Hi. I have been a member for 14 years and have recently come back after about 8 years away. A lot of my hubs are pretty poor especially after being left for so long. Should i start a new account or just delete all the rubbish ones and continue creating content. Thanks

Hi Lee, welcome back! I'm no expert in these kinds of decisions, it's so individual. It depends on your goals for coming back and if your content is relevant today. You have 194 articles so you have enough to delete some which would not really affect your status. Maybe pick your best 10 articles, clean them up, submit them to a niche site and see what happens. So much has changed in 8 years that it would be worth it to check out how HP works now compared to how it used to be. Even the name and owners have changed. It may be worth starting over. Good luck!

Lee, I agreed entirely  with janshares. But you should submitted one editted article aftter every 14th day to a niche site.

Jan has given you some good advice. It’s up to you what you do, but I don’t think you should delete the articles yet. I think you should look at each article individually. You could update some of them and see if they get switched to a niche site, as Jan says.

If you do delete an article, make sure that you create a backup on your computer first. In the future, you might decide to write an article about the same topic. The previous article may have good sections that you could use or modify.

The advice given so far is helpful. I left HP for some time and came back. I started working on a few articles and adding some new ones. I think it's paid off in the long run. I have one that is going viral right now. So that's an incentive for me to keep at it. Since coming back, I have discovered that you'll have rewards if you put enough energy into HP. Good luck!!!

Kenna, congrats to you having an article go viral! Do you know how this happened?

Janis, I don't know. I probably could spend a lot of time figuring it out. I don't have the time. But I enjoy the ride and keep my overall successful actions in, as explained in HP's Help Section.

      Welcome back!
I was also gone for several years and recently came back. If you still have articles that are getting traffic, then I would just update them. As mentioned, you can update and submit to a niche site, but only once every two weeks. You're probably better off starting fresh with a lot of them as every new article is reviewed and considered for a niche site and you can write as many articles as you want. Your goal should be the niche sites as those are the ones that get the traffic.

Thanks, Tsmog, I Appreciate the kind words, yes 1 million views although sadly most of them were a while ago and the articles are now outdated as they were based on video games that are now over 10 years old, I will go and use proper paragraphs and grammar though as looked earlier and they were shocking.

I will probably delete 30-40% of my articles and get back to writing again. Lots of new skills I have picked up along the way so hopefully another million views won't be far off. Thanks again

Thanks, Kenna appreciate the input. I am going to delete some and get writing again, I was earning a few hundred pounds per month and would like to get back to it, The google panda update many years ago screwed me over a little bit but I should have adjusted instead of quitting.

Just saw the rest of the replies, Thanks everyone for your input, With over 1.5 million views on my articles before I disappeared I know I can write content.

My formatting and grammar have improved so hopefully this will show. Where would be the best place to learn about how Hubpages works today?

Check out the Learning Center link following or go to the upper right and use the Help Link.
      https://hubpageshelp.com/

Give attention to HubPages Writing Style Guide!! Lengthy, but informative. The editors use this too when reviewing articles for niche sites.
      https://hubpageshelp.com/standards/HubP … tyle-Guide

With gaming the niche site is Level Skip. All the niche sites are on your landing page or feed to the right. You earn best if the article is on a niche site. Articles are reviewed when published and considered for a niche site. Otherwise you can submit one every 14 days for older articles. Oh yeah, articles are not referred to as Hubs any longer. It is not really a professional term these days.
      https://levelskip.com/

To the left of the landing page for niche sites where the section header names are there are three lines. Click that then go to the bottom and click 'Editorial Policy". That will share what they expect from articles submitted to that niche site.

Give attention to the linked HubPages Editorial Policy in the second paragraph.
      https://hubpages.com/help/sites-editorial-policy

If you have further question come back to the forums and ask. Other wise have fun, fun, fun writing.

P.S. I deleted my post earlier and its not here now. You must have got to it before I did. I was going to rewrite it later this afternoon.

So small update. I am back and have got 16 hubs back to being featured. Have also submitted one to levelskip. My next question is i notice a lot of successful hubbers are just in one niche. I am a bit of everything. Should i start a second account and niche down. Alongside my normal account that is?? Thanks
