Hubpages interferes with the look and template of the articles in  an unpleasant way. For example take Nithya Venkat's recent poem on "Vacations".
One of the verses, in the middle order, gets broken by HP's promotional ads featuring perhaps three articles. After the first line of the verse, "dotted with umbrellas", there appear the promotional ads for three articles, one beside the other, horizontally and thereafter a message to scroll down to continue to read the other lines. But I enjoyed it in a sarcastic way by reading the title of those articles with the lines of the verses, one after the other. For example,
How to write a Google Blog... reflecting the light
Teachers Day poem... the glistening waves
25+ Healthy Halloween Treats... a welcoming sight

      Yes.  It's totally disheartening.

Her article is good and now it is plagued by the almighty ads.

      Sad.

Unfortunately, there is nothing we can do about it, according to Matt's post here in reply to the spammy ads.

"The ads may seem overwhelming, but based on our data, the Ad Team has concluded this is the best path and will make changes as needed."

Best path for whom and to what ends?

Funnily enough - the ad team over on Sports Illustrated disagrees with the HP approach and insert 50% fewer ads.  How does that work I wonder.

Is there one team for all of the sites, or different ad teams for each pillar of TAG.  Are the ad teams paid bonuses based on income?

Does anyone receive bonuses based on growth of the site readership? Is management in a race to win the next 15 minutes of income, with no regard for the next month, year, or lustrum?

Perhaps those writing "News" articles are paid by the piece. Hence their relentless, hyperbolic posts of  hysterical videos, that are so heart warming they will make us weep, which is just the best, and have everyone cracking up, while giving people the feels.

I had to look up "lustrum" – what a beautiful word! Thank you.

You are welcome.  I  picked it up from John Wayne in one of the True Grit/Rooster Cogburn movies, lol.

Venkatachari, I appreciate your humor at the end. Those lines worked perfectly, lol.

Shift enter solves the problem instead of using enter for a new paragraph. This is what I do if I don't want text to be broken up.
