Can Amazon Associates link be used on other websites?

    I have an Amazon Associates account, with a store name starting with: hubp0bd...
    It was clearly set up to work with hubpages but I don't think it's been in use for 10 years. Can I use this account to link products on my new blog and earn a commission?

      Well, I had my Amazon associate account before I joined HP, so I use it on my own site. But I'm pretty sure we all use a dedicated HubPages one here, so I would say, no, it won't work... unless you are happy about HubPages taking a share big_smile

        I didn't read all the convoluted pages of that post, but it seemed to suggest that we could still use our old Amaxon associates ID. Maybe at the time, Hubpages were getting a better deal as regards commission and it was advantageous to switch over?

    You can put your own Amazon UK associate links in your articles if the traffic is likely to be from UK readers, because of the nature of the content (I have a plumbing article about fixing cold tanks in an attic, not something that's common for instance in the US, so I have some tool ads on that.) Matt said that this was ok. I'm not quite sure why, maybe it's because links to Amazon UK aren't classed as spammy. Hopefully that won't change.
