What is Dog Discoveries??? A channel by The Arena Group?

Searching for a specific topic on breeding I came across a sight, "Dog Discoveries," whose logo I immediately recognized as part of the Hubpages family font. Scroll down and it is part of The Arena Group.

The site bills itself as, "We are a website with content created by the ultimate experts in the field including certified professional dog trainers, dog behavior consultants, veterinarians, veterinary assistants, breeders and groomers eager to share their expertise and knowledge on everything dog."

Having said that the health articles are written by a veterinary assistant - not vet tech or heaven forbid, an actual vet. Whose last name is "R."

The article on how long dogs bleed after giving birth is essentially unscientific, despite cribbing scientific info off the web.  They better not be bleeding after giving birth.  Its called discharge, and if they are bleeding red blood, get thee to the vet right quick.

I see this in the same vein as the ill fated Reviews section.

Why is HP competing with Pethelpful.  Are you trying to doom Pethelpful with advice from a vet assistant.

What kind of an experiment is this?  Why isn't TAG pleased to tell us about this development.  Are there other TAG sites cannibalizing the other HP niche sites?

When did this site go live?

Oh boy, this is very interesting. I suspect "bleeding after giving birth" is a longtail keyword. Hopefully, the writer or editor redefines it as discharge.

Could that be the experiment regarding the Q&A which disappeared from our articles? I remember reading about something like that some time ago.
    Here it is I think.

Dog Discoveries has been going for seven years (see my comment below). The Ask an Expert feature is just a few months old, I believe.

Looks like more changes are coming.

"The Arena Group Signs Definitive Agreement to Combine with Bridge Media Networks". https://www.businesswire.com/news/home/ … a-Networks

The new company is to be called New Arena and 65% of the share capital will be owned by Simplyfy and 5-hour (Bridge Media Networks.)

Hopeful. Hoping that those millions of dollars to clean up TAG's debt will trickle down to improved earnings for us little people. Fingers crossed and prayers up.

Sorry Janis but all the evidence available, and there's a lot, is that "trickle down" is another way of spelling "trickle up and into banks in the Cayman Islands."

I agree with Rupert. All that debt being loaded onto New Arena looks like a money-making scheme for the new owners, but bad news for us.

Adrienne is on it, but I didn't see Mark.

I find it interesting the site has the HP layout, but also has a TOC (something we were told wasn't able to be transfered), no annoying video, and less ads. Clearly HP could have a better user interface, they simply don't care enough about this platform anymore.

I have not come across this site, I wonder how often it actually ranks well? ParadePets another TAG site similar to Pethelpful has been around for awhile, but I don't see it in the SERP's often. Parade has a whole line of "sites"/categories that mimic HP's niches.

The assumption that Dog Discoveries is a new site is wrong.

It may be new to individual hubbers personally, I wasn't previously aware of it either, but it has been around since the beginning of 2017, according to Semrush, so it's seven years old.

Its traffic has been going up and down over that time but it's suffered catastrophic falls in recent times like the niches.

I struggle to attach the same significance or feel the same depth of emotion about it that others seem to feel. It just looks to me like an old experiment that's been left running.
