    Hi Hubbers,

I'd like some help with passing the Quality Assessment Process. Will you please give feedback on my article? What can I do to improve? Thanks!

Hi Suja and congrats on writing your first article. I found it quite interesting. With that said there are things you can do to improve your article in terms of what HubPages wants. Your pictures need to be properly credited and allowed to be used on this site. You have some spacing issues as well as punctuation issues. For example, you need to leave a space after a comma or a period. If you click on the Help button at the upper right hand of the page, you'll be able to find a link to the Learning Center which can really help you with your article. Good luck!

      Hi there,

You can't take images from the web and just credit 'Internet'. All images carry a license - some may be copyrighted so you are not allowed to republish them. You could even be subject to legal action.

Please read this article from the Learning Center:

      https://hubpageshelp.com/content/Learni … -image-use

The other photos are fine - and illustrate your article very well. It's just that first one that is problematic. You could try Wikipedia where Public Domain and Creative Commons images are used.

It would be nice to see the inbetween stage of drawing, transferring the drawing and starting the painting. There's a massive gap. It goes from the basic materials to the half-painted art. Your readers are going to be disappointed because so much has been left out. Imagine that you are watching a YouTube video and it jumped from the paints and brushes to the end result.

      Good luck.

Well, if you edit this one, it would be a good thing. That's why we give feedback so you can make the necessary improvements.

So, sort out the image license and fix the gap.

I have some rock painting articles on my profile - the one about painting a cat might be helpful in including the extra information. If you are going to write how-tos and step-by-steps, you need to provide all the steps.

      Hi Susamma,

Congratulations on your first article! I see that you've already received some great feedback. I noticed a few more things that I thought could be improved. So, here are my two cents:

      1. Punctuation and spacing issues: There should always be a space after a comma or a full stop. At multiple places in your article, the space is either before a full stop or there is no space at all after the full stop. Same thing with colon ':'. There should be a space after colon which is missing in many places.

      2. Inconsistent punctuation in lists: There are some lists in your article where there is a full stop for some points and none for the others.

      3. Numbering vs bulleted list: If you are listing steps to do something and the order matters, I'd recommend the use of a numbered list instead of a bulleted list. Bulleted list also works, but I just feel, from a reader's perspective a numbered list would work better if you are listing steps to do something. A bulleted list works fine in other places.

All the best and Happy writing!

      Neha
