I finally decided to update my articles today and discovered that most of my video capsules didn't work. Now I have to change the text and delete all the video capsules accordingly. Thanks again, HubPages for doing something to hurt us without any warning!

    Check your videos folks.

PS: and yes, I did check with YouTube that the videos are still up and going, They are just not showing up in HubPages in about 30 of my articles.

Mine seemed to be working earlier today, but we'll see what happens

The YouTubes in my articles seem to be A-OK. Maybe a temporary burp?

I forgot to mention: The missing videos only show up in Edit mode. Open your article in Edit mode. Click cmd/F (Mac) or Ctr/F (Windows) and type in the word "video" to find all your text relating to your videos and the video capsules. Then, check if they are working.

It won't show up with the "missing link" feature on the stats page either.

OK, I found out what the glitch is. When I click on "author view" to edit an article, it shows up in "Hubview" with a URL starting with https://hubpages.com/ ...
In this case, no videos show up.

Alarmed by this, I spent hours deleting all references to videos and the videos themselves and clicked "Done Editing". Feeling sorry I had lost all my videos.

But you know what? Despite all that, when I click on the actual links (not in author view/edit mode, the URL starts with https://discover.hubpages.com/..., and the video references and videos are back again.

    Is that weird or what?

Sue, it’s not weird at all. When you’re in edit mode, you are editing in the HubPages domain. But when you click on the published version, you see it in the Discover subdomain (or wherever else it’s published).

One word of caution, it can take anywhere from a minute to a few hours for edit changes to be transferred to TAGs server for online rendering. That could be why the videos you removed are still there. Look at the published time stamp on top, so you’ll know if you are viewing the older version. Clicking refresh helps.

Check it again in a few hours for the updated version once it’s rendered on TAG. You might notice the videos are gone since you removed them. I hope you saved a backup so you can restore the videos you removed. I keep a new backup every time I make updates to my content.

Sue, I don't see any weiqd issues on my videos. Seems it's a glitch or bug on certain writers stories, but that can be ruled out.
