My actual words are covered up by ads now!

I was on here a few months ago complaining about the ads which dominate our articles. I have been put in the position to apologize to my friends and readers, and live with the ads. But, this morning while making a few changes to my latest articles, I noticed important segments, missing, as if I had accidentally deleted entire paragraphs or impact sentences which alter the context.
I discovered while in 'Author View' that they are, in fact, still there, but covered up... by ADS! Actual content!
How am I supposed to live with, or get around this?

I can relate to your disappointment.
It’s so frustrating to read my own articles, because of the overflow of ads. Then, how any other reader will be interested in staying at the page!
No use bringing to the HP notice too. We have been doing it since long.

Yes, it's a mess. It's so sad. Uploading content and ads takes so long. It's a tragedy.

As of a few short weeks ago Kenna, I had planned to continue writing. I even shared with you, in another discussion, my intentions! But reviewing my articles, each one, not only loaded up with ads, but altered by ads... (unless things drastically change) I am done!
I have made this decision with 318 articles, which is my birthday, and on my 13 year Anniversay with HP! sad No, I am not happy about it!

I think I may have just written my very last article with HP. sad

The ad situation has been beyond ridiculous for so long, and that is the straw to break the camel’s back. I have read articles recently that are almost unreadable due to the terrible ad placement (poetry especially.) One short piece had ten ads and six of the same one. Articles look more like adverts now with just some unrelated text crammed in. If they are actually covering our content with ads well…I give up.

I know! I hate to give up, and I have hung in there through it all, but as you said... that's the straw!

I  took a look at one of my articles and scrolled down to the very end (including the old comments) and counted at least 50 ads in the text and then a lot of white spaces because my old pc couldn't cope popping them all up and got jammed.

Titia, it is SO over the top, and beyond frustrating!

HP is a platform for ads, not for writing.

It has gradually evolved into HubPages of Ads, no doubt!

Yes, that does happen. Banner ads cover text, mid-way down the screen and ads don't load properly. It hardly matters at this stage though because traffic has reduced to a trickle.

My traffic has increased.  It is an election year and I do write about politics quite a bit...so there's  that.
But, no matter, if chunks of my content are hidden by banner ads, it will be bye bye traffic!

These ads are really getting in the way of the writer’s content. I also have an article where my words are being blocked by ads now!

Hi Lora, yes, the struggle is real! Hopefully, the powers that be are working to rectify this problem so that we... can back to the business of writing!
