What's happening to the forum? Why is no one posting? I usually just lurk, but I'm concerned not to see anything on here.

Because the platform is disappearing down the gurgler.

Yup! When HP staff posts an update, you'll see more chatter.

You're thinking of 6 years ago?

Is this really true? I know many members have said so, but I guess I've been in denial! I've been through this before, with the old "Examiner" site, but I really was hoping it wasn't happening on here.

It does not help that the preceding posts in the forums are dominated by age old announcements detailing how TAG is busy screwing its authors.

If TAG/HP communicated to us, it'd help.

I must admit I was pleased to see a payment from hubs today! Not written on here for a while, and only get paid every two or three months now. Came in just right. Evidently if you reach pension age, the state takes away your carers allowance, (I take care of two people) and you have to go without money for about three weeks! Who knew? So at least I got my payment here which will keep me ticking over. So thanks Hubpages, even though I am totally behind in it these days, I will definitely be back, lol!
    Oh, and Hi to everyone!

I keep posting something or other on Forums. Whether to share a friend's article or to spread awareness on "What's Today" events. I keep visiting the HubPages feed daily for some minutes.

I think the forum ceased to be useful, from a writer’s perspective, when we lost Samantha Cubbison.

The forum needed regular input from staff regarding what was happening and practical advice.

We lost feedback from management and then the staff member who’s role was to interact with the community.

Yes, we had an occasional official update from editors (when they existed) and Matt dealing with operational issues, but I came to the forums mainly for writing/online publishing help and news and that dried up.

So the forum’s not really been much good for years in my case.

Don't staff members (if there are any) ever check the forums? It could be very helpful if we'd hear from them (unless it's ALL BAD news)!

I don't think anyone but Matt checks the forums, and that not too often. But, my articles are still being snipped and edited pretty often, so someone is still working.

I am sorry to see you go Bev. We've exchanged a few pleasantries over the years and I learned a lot from the advice you dispensed to newcomers.

I hope you can find an earnings path that keeps all your critters well fed.

    Good luck.

Like HubPages, they are also kicking the bucket, one by one sad

I collect a pension now so earnings not so important these days. I'll hang around for a bit anyway.

      Bxx

I see your articles are dwindling.
