I was just checking my stats  and noticed that my five most recently published pieces here  also have the lowest hub scores - between 51 and 53. I am sure they aren’t the worst things I have written here. Maybe it is just because there is now so little activity here now that they haven’t had much engagement. Has anyone else noticed similar?

I've only published one in recent times and it has a score of 75 and is actually higher than most of my other articles which used to have much higher scores. The scores really don't matter, though. I wouldn't be concerned about it.

No, I know scores don’t matter, and almost all my scores have fallen over the last year or so. I just thought it interesting that the latest were extra low.

I haven't published anything new since September 2020. However, my top performers have hub scores in the 70s and 80s with the exception of a couple in the upper 60s. That said, I really don't care anymore. I gave up on posting to this format years ago.

Thank you, Shauna. I haven’t been posting regularly here, and have actually been republishing most of my articles from here elsewhere. Many of my oldest pieces have been brought back from the dead, and proving quite popular.

Jodah, I am slowly but surely removing/moving my articles. However, I have a seasonal one on HP that is the one generating money for me right now. I say that based on extrapolation since HP withholds that information from us.

Thanks for sharing that, Kenna. While you have articles still generating money it is worthwhile to keep them here. I am lucky to make $2 per month here at the moment. But each of my articles from here can make me that in a couple of days elsewhere, even ones that have been languishing on HubPages and not making anything for years.

Exactly, that's why I am leaving.

Hi John.   I haven't published anything new in awhile.  But I don't know if my hubber scores for publications are accurate since the stats have been frozen for some time.  I did notice that when we brought everything over to Discover from Letterpile, the scores plummeted overnight.

Yes, all my scores dropped then, Genna. I haven’t published anything here in awhile either. I don’t think it is worthwhile as it will take me over a year to reach payout. They should reduce the minimum payout amount to $20.
The scores could possibly be linked to the frozen stats. Thanks for replying.

I agree, wholeheartedly, John.  In all fairness to HP's authors, they should consider lowering the minimum payout amount.  But given what has gradually taken place with HP since Arena/TAG took over, making more profits in various ways at our expense might have been their primary goal since day one.

The sheer number of published articles on the site was probably the asset that TAG wanted. I expect they always intended to strip that asset and let HubPages die.

I know I could republish a few articles and make payout regularly - even the one article I left here as a marker makes a few $s per month - but I don't want to contribute to such a mercenary organisation that treats its writers like dirt.

              I totally agree. It's infuriating.

My most recent article was published in July this year. It has a score of 74 and deals with life above 70+year old. Only one of my articles has a score of less than 70.

But I haven't received any views on any of my articles in a long time. My total views used to be less than 20 per day. Now, we do not know.

So, the hub scores do not matter at all.

My new article scores are in the crapper, but so are my most successful old articles. A random number assigned by a machine is meaningless. I know whether or not I've written a good piece and that's what matters to me.

Yes Rupert, you know better than anyone whether your articles are quality or not, especially a machine. It amazes me why they even bother to still assign scores to anything.

I have $33 locked up for the last year. I may have to forego that amount as my recent monthly earnings or in pennies. I would not be able to reach out to a payout amount.

Venka, I'd wait it out if I were you. As long as your account is live and you have articles outside of the original HP do com, you'll eventually reach payout.
