I have written a hub on shetoldme and I believe some hubber or an individual tried to register to shetoldme through my link.  The email I got from Shetoldme, yesterday, stated that someone have tried to register through my link and once the user gets approval I can see him in my referral tab.  I just checked my shetoldme account and it still shows no data.  So I am sure the user might be from hubpages.  Infact I had been rejected twice when I tried to sign up through hubpages to shetoldme. So I want to know if any hubber have experienced it before or is it just my belief.  Also I have added the following note to my hub on shetoldme:

(Note: Shetoldme.com has become very strict in accepting new users especially from hubpages.  Infact I was also rejected twice and I signed up using my blogger account.  Though I don't have any official answer for this, my best guess is it may be due to continual spamming by spammers with their hubpages account.  So try signing up with blogger like I did or If you don't have blogger blog keep the field empty.  I havn't tried the latter method though.  I hope you would get approved.)

I would really like to check the validity of this little trick of mine.  So any hubber who does not have an account at shetoldme I want you to try the trick(through my referral link if it's ok with you so I can see your name in my account or you can sign up on your own) and let me know the results.  You can even sign up through hubpages profile and let me know if you got approved.  My only aim is to know whether I am thinking in the right direction.  And as for shetoldme.com, it is in my recommended site for backlinking so would help you with your hubs and revenue.
Thanks in advance to all the hubbers who would try!!

Actually I signed up under sunforged a few weeks ago and had absolutely no problems.  Nope wait that was redgage.

It takes them a week to two weeks to get approval at shetoldme because it is one guy doing it. Took me two weeks. I signed up a month ago.

I signed up today from IntimateEvolutions hub profile and was approved within an hour. I included 3 links of my article style hubs and wrote maybe 2 sentences as to what I wanted to use shetoldme for... don't know it that helps..

I have been trying to be a member of this site from december when I had joined hubpages and read shetoldme as a recommended site for backlinking and if you see my profile now at shetoldme it says just a member for 1 week 2 hours.  Sorry I could not find the rejection mail which I got just within 15 minutes may be I deleted it due to frustration.  And last when I applied I applied through my blogger account and I was approved and approval mail took only 15 mins to come.  I guess it's just my hard luck.  Also I can understand the owner James have a lot of work to manage.  PR 5 status comes with t's own responsibility.

Now I need a feedback of few more hubbers so that I would remove that note from the hub.  Thanks Jean for sharing your experience.

try mashbite.com you signup for an account and you are approved immediately. It's the same as shetoldme but i haven't tried their revenue sharing program but i have heard they are getting successful

It took me more than 2 weeks to get accepted. Admin manually accepts accounts (in order to avoid spam) and because of this many applications are either denied or unapproved.

give mashbite.com a try it's a news service like shetoldme but here you are approved immediately and start earning after you submit the application.

I think you all are right and there might have been some issues with my account so I got denied.  Anyways I have decided to remove the note.  Thanks everyone for the help.

Best I can recall it took me about a week or so to get accepted in  on my first attempt. I did mention that I write for hubpages and that didn't seem to have any negative impact in my case.

This is exactly what I wrote for the reason why I wished to join SheToldMe:

I was recommended to this site by a friend on HubPages. I recently have noticed this site listed several times as a good social bookmarking web site so I thought I would give it a try.

I tried to applied a few weeks ago (or maybe a month to little over a month ago), but got rejected.  There was no explanation and I honestly have NO idea why I got rejected sad  The email did say to try again if I thought it might have been a mistake (or something like that).  I haven't tried back, but I plan to soon!  So, I dunno ...

Your problem sound same as mine.  Do try and let me know of you got approved or not...It took me 4 months and 3 attempts to get approved.  But the site is worth it.

Hey, Englightenedsoul.  Just letting you know I reapplied last night and got accepted today!  Too weird!  I must have done something wrong the last time or something .. well, just letting you know I got in! cool

Thank you so much Anolinde.  I have made the change to my hub as well.  And I am happy for you!!

I think it has to do with the place where you come from, I applied and was accepted the next day, but I have 150 plus hubs already! I just applied two months ago, I hope this will be sorted out for all of you as hubs which I backlink there crawled up faster in search engines, faster than redgage or xomba! That's my own experience!

I hadn't heard of any problems.  I was accepted at shetoldme within a week.  I remember logging in (when I got my approval) and it said I had been a member for 5 days.  I signed up by going direct to shetoldme, from the address bar.

I signed up to she told me and was approved about a week later.

How much effort did you put in to your application, did you showcase your current work, and did you tell them honestly how you plan to use she told me?

In my application I wrote a fair amount which stated how I would be using she told me to drive traffic by creating quality content on she told me itself.

I don't think she told me has any bias against hubpages though.

I didn't have any problems either, I was approved in 3 days. And I just mentioned that I will use STM to promote my websites and hubs, that's all.

Well when I applied a week before I was approved within 15 minutes but that was my 3rd attempt.  My first attempt being in december.  Though you all are right may be I did not show case my account back then.  This time I showcased it properly.  And I never intended to imply that James was bias.  I apologise if I phrased my word that way.  He is doing a fantastic job and I am earning a decent income there.  It tops the list of my revenue sharing bookmarking site.

I get new referrals almost every day with no problems, in fact I am top of the leader board. These only get added when a new sign up gets approved, I believe.

I believe that the site owner, who I have had a few communications with, is relocating to Asia. This could explain significant delays in account approval.

Thank you so much Ryan.  But I do have a question for you, Shetoldme.com mails you when someone uses your referral link and it states that you can view the referral once the user is approved.  I would like to know that do they mail us when a user is rejected( I think they don't but I am still curious to know).  And congratulations Ryan, I do see you at the top of the referrals list followed by uninvited writer.  You rock!!

I also got the approval after two weeks or so and last week I also got a mail fro She Told me stating that somebody has applied through my reference and once approved they would let me know.

I got accepted within a couple of days or so, I applied for the first time about a month ago. I didn't write anything special, I simply said I was joining to make links to my hubs on hubpages. And I didn't even have many hubs as I have only been on here a couple of months.
