    Hi all.

Glad to be part of Hubpages!

I'll be brief with my newbie question.

I did look at days' worth of helps first...

So, I saw a question I wanted to post an answer.  Turned out too long, so accepted the option to turn into a Hub.

It was just an answer, so, I added a quick appropriate photo to the top, removed all ads, and did my thing.

Seems I got a +1 at the end of it quickly, but...

The number at the top is 49   and my profile number went from 30 to 29 or 28 ?

    What's up?

    Thanks kindly !

Hubscore and profile score is always changing.
Technically if you're here to make money it DOESN'T matter - it's just an internal indication of how your page and you are doing.
It won't effect your chances of being viewed through google - and google and outside sources are where the visitors (and the money clicks) are.

New hubs will nearly always have a low score for a few days - and the shorter they are the lower they will usually start.
It's best to try and make hubs at least 500-700 words minimum up to 1500 words.

Have a look at my guide (listed on my profile) about how to write quality hubs.
Good luck and welcome to HP!

You've only been a member of the site for a few hours.

The FAQ talks about what goes into HubScores and how they are computed,
