    How do I get followers? Relatively new, so where is the best place to advertise?

    Get yourself an avatar to add a bit of personality. Post in forums on topics that interest you. Comment sincerely on other people's hubs. So those are some of the ways you can make yourself more visible.

    Many hubbers will follow you if you follow them, but this does not guarantee that they will read your articles. The methods listed above are probably more solid.

        Any portrait picture will do. Try Wikimedia Commons. You can also try Google Image Search, then select "advanced image search," and filtering "labeled for reuse." Images need to get cropped to fit, so you will want something with a clear focus.

    Follows will come naturally, a profile picture does help though.

    Become active in the forums and you should start seeing them trickle in.

    I have near 300 followers now, but I have to admit that prior to having around 70 quality hubs I didn't get many followers at all!

      You've got great advice already.

      My thing, polish your profile, write hubs, be nice, be a good hubber and people will naturally just follow you. I don't think there is a special formula for it.
