What do you mean "tore apart?"
If you just deleted it, it takes awhile to dissapear off the list.
If you deleted off your word processor, did you check the desktop wastebasket?
If physically tore up, get some tape, unless you shredded it, at which point I'm wondering if maybe you had a fit of anger.
