Is it time yet? When best to start the ball rolling on the Xmas hubs?

I know, I know, its still July..... but I don't want to miss out this time around hmm

Someone in another thread mentioned their Christmas hubs were getting some hits. I had a few on mine too within the past week.

I've decided that every hub for August will be an Xmas hub. And then I will leave them be, I will probably do about 30 during that month, backlink them a little.... and then move back onto things that I enjoy!

My Halloween hubs have been steadily increasing over the last few weeks, and my Christmas hubs have just started to see hits.  I'd say it's time to start writing, folks!

For all the new people that come and go, it is always the same people on these types of threads! We must all have a similar genetic makeup or something.... and its great to see that all three of us now have over 1000 fans big_smile

KCC, I am not going to bother with Halloween, I have decided that Xmas is my 'time'.... It will define my past year on the site, and I will make up for all of my lost ground in Amazon...

Halloween is huge in Texas.  My Halloween hubs last year sent my pageviews through the roof.  They helped me monetarily as well.

I know that Halloween hubs do well on here, but I just have my eyes set on other things right now. Maybe that is one for 2011 wink I am working on a website.... it takes too long...

Ryan, I just started a thread a couple of days ago letting people know that they need to start thinking about the holidays now. I have a couple of Christmas-only hubs that have been dormant since December, and they've been bringing in some AdSense clicks consistently over the past week. KCC, Habee and a few others echoed the same.

I'm pretty sure Nelle and Mark said last year that hubs should be up no later than the end of September, but I'm hoping to have mine all ready by end of August.

Thank you Irohner, those time frames seem realistic. I am going to aim to get it all done and out of my system for August. I might aim for 40 directly related Xmas hubs for that month. And then I will work on general consumer goods, the types of things that may still generate a few extra xmas sales big_smile

Just keep in mind that the "directly related" stuff (if you mean what I think you mean) usually sees a different time frame--it starts and ends earlier. Remember that at least here in the states, most folks have their homes all decorated, cards sent, ugly Christmas sweaters purchased and the like by Thanksgiving -- the last Thursday in November. But the quest for consumer goods is like the Energizer Bunny--it keeps on going all the way to 12/23.

Yep indeed, that was my thinking. Get all the hubs about xmas cards, decorations, wrapping paper, etc etc... done in August. Then work on trying to flog some iPads, Kindles, etc etc etc.

I don't want to spend too much time dedicating myself to directly related xmas hubs, hence the reason I will only dedicate one month to this. I prefer the consistancy and stability of evergreen topics. In other words, I dont want to make $500 on Amazon in November if I am straight back down to $50 in January!

You are SUCH a Brit! "Etc etc etc" and "flog" bring me back to my Diageo days. Now just throw in a pear-shaped, spot on, nicked and a couple of bloodies and barmies, and I'll really be reminiscing! smile

I've started thinking about Christmas hubs this week. I'm going to write them soon, coz I was thinking you probably can't write them too early. When I wrote a couple of Xmas hubs last year I was pretty new here and I think I only published them mid-November and probably did no backlinking. I still made a little money on them (more than I've made on anything else).

So my question is, you can write Christmas hubs as early as you like (I assume) but is there an optimum time to start backlinking/promoting them? Is there any benefit in waiting till like October to but in the time to promote them, or should it all be done asap??

Mine are getting hits and I don't have "christmas" in the titles lol

The few that I have didn't have Christmas in the title. They were Secret Santa ones. I had one that I did for Valentine's Day which performed really badly, but I've changed the title to Christmas and I'm hoping it'll work for that instead, although the address still says valentine's day (i'm hoping noone will notice that).

Yeah I was thinking about Christmas hubs as well, I am focusing on completing at least 50-75 hubs before December but I still have so much work to do with the hubs I am going to write and publish. I'll find the time because it could mean sales smile smile

I have one Christmas themed hub that has taken hits almost every day since I published it last December. I am actually considerablly and pleasantly astonished that is has performed this way. I never would have thought it would be continually taking hits.
