The title is only a tad misleading, however last night I went to bed and I was at $0.00. This morning I am up to $0.08!

It made a believer out of me, I have barley backlinked and plan to hit it hard from here on out. Find something you are passionate about and work on it, it is very fun and it could be rewarding!

Take all advice you get from people and work hard, good things are happening.

hub scores fluctuate on their own. you can learn a lot about HP and how it works in the learning center and also reading all of darkside's HubPage related hubs. if you follow his advice and study his hubs and how he structures them, you'll be on your way. http://hubpages.com/hub/howhubworks read all of his links included.

writing about what you know and are passionate about also helps. learn all you can about your subject and keep writing.

thank you, I hope to have that same number next to my name that you do.

I can defintely get used to this!

      over 4 now I'm up to $.09!

Here are my stats at this moment, I am not sure exactly what it means though, mind telling me if it is good?

AdSense for Content  <snipped stats - against AdSense TOS>

      are those good numbers

Yes the numbers are good, but you can't share them with the rest of us according to the TOS you accepted while signing up for Adsense.

HP has done this for you but all I want to say is that make it a habit to read and understand a website/service's TOS before using it.

Keep writing, and keep having fun here.  You'll make it!

I have enjoyed my first few months here on HP watching the growth of my stats, and realizing that people all over the world are reading my hubs.  Heady stuff, at least to me - I'd never written anything before.

            Done.

I'm having a little trouble with understanding the TOS here - from reading other threads and hubs, I thought a $$ amount spread over a number of hubs was all right.

those are not my numbers anyhow. I would like to get it removed, but it won't let me edit it out. If someone can fix it that would be great, honest mistake.

Mikeydoes, disclosing that information is a very good way of getting your AdSense account banned. I suggest your delete that row of statistics immediately.

Congrats, Mikey.  I agree with Ryan.  Google forbids the disclosure of actual stats.  You have to be very general when sharing your successes.  Edit your response.

    1. Pcunix profile image83
Pcunixposted 14 years agoin reply to this

Google's dislike of sharing is almost certainly because they don't want competitors to know the information and because they don't want us knowing that someone else gets a better deal.

Some of it is just silly.   Google doesn't mind if I say I made $xxx from them in August.  What they don't want you to know is how much traffic was involved and most importantly, how many clicks it took.

The traffic part is a bit silly, because if  it's a specific website, it's pretty easy to get pretty close estimates of traffic and compute a rough income per thousand.  I therefore can't see them getting very upset about disclosing rough traffic.  It's very close to being publicly available, so you might argue that it  would fall under the Google Confidential Information does not include information that has become publicly known through no breach by You or Google, or information that has been (i) independently developed without access to Google Confidential Information, as evidenced in writing.

Clicks are a different story.  I wouldn't even hint at clicks.  That seems like very dangerous territory to me.

      1. KCC Big Country profile image81
KCC Big Countryposted 14 years agoin reply to this

This is cut and pasted from Google's TOS. I only bolded the relevant parts:

        7.  Confidentiality. You agree not to disclose Google Confidential Information without Google's prior written consent. "Google Confidential Information" includes without limitation: (a) all Google software, technology, programming, specifications, materials, guidelines and documentation relating to the Program; (b) click-through rates or other statistics relating to Property performance in the Program provided to You by Google; and (c) any other information designated in writing by Google as "Confidential" or an equivalent designation. However, You may accurately disclose the amount of Google’s gross payments to You pursuant to the Program . Google Confidential Information does not include information that has become publicly known through no breach by You or Google, or information that has been (i) independently developed without access to Google Confidential Information, as evidenced in writing; (ii) rightfully received by You from a third party; or (iii) required to be disclosed by law or by a governmental authority.

I was aware that it wasnt correct.. but I couldnt say infinite so I said the title was misleading. Nonetheless it has increased 800% from the previous number since this morning. so it is correct now!! almost got my first dollar!

I really want to delete the numbers, but it wont let me edit them out

Here are my stats for an idea of how it can increase...

    January - 0.01
    Feburary - 0.14
    March - 0.25
    April - 3.13
    May - 12.13
    June - 9.49
    July - 28.82
    August - 43.80

Trust me, if you just keep writing, it WILL snowball over time. smile

I'm at .78 right now, but I am only using adsense. Is that all I really need? I don't have my own webpage, just 1 good hub. I'm actually really confused on what to do next in that regard.

Amazon and kontera when do I think about using those? Or can I even?

      1. WryLilt profile image86
WryLiltposted 14 years agoin reply to this

Mikey, here's my best advice (watch out, I ramble.)

Kontera - Don't bother. It doesn't bring much money unless you are getting around 100,000 hits per month. Some people also claim it lowers your adsense earnings.
Amazon - have you applied? They approve nearly anyone, and I'd highly recommend it for two reasons - first it's another income stream and second, search engines will read the words on the products you put on hubs which can lead to more hits to do with those items.

        You'll find that:
Informational hubs (how tos, recipes, guides etc) are better for getting adsense clicks.
Amazon sells better on product hubs - those aimed at items such as "blue whisks" or "brake pads" because people searching those terms are often in the market to buy.

My advice? Apply for amazon if you haven't and throw some amazon capsules at the bottom of information hubs or all over product hubs. Then write. Do a thirty day challenge. The stuff you're writing now will be making you some good money in 3-6 months. Trust me - all the earnings I'm making now are almost 80% from stuff I wrote back in April-May-June. So the more you write now, the more you'll get then.

Write on a range of topics - write about anything. Just get as much content out as you can now - you'll be paid off later!

I think Kontera is a waste of time and annoying to most readers so I personally would never use it.  If you feel you can or want to try writing product hubs, then jump right in and do some Amazon focused hubs.

I haven't taken the time to figure out how many of mine are AdSense focused and how many are Amazon focused, but I can tell you that about 35%-40% of my monthly income is from Amazon, the rest from AdSense.  I'm crossing my fingers, however, for a sizeable jump in mazon revenue over the next few months due to holiday sales.

As for a lot to learn, I remember being there (heck I think I always am!)  There are some truly awesome hubs about hubbing by some all-stars here like Darkside, Sunforged, Ryankett and more that can help you understand more.

Just say that "a friend" may have made approximately an 800% increase from $.00 to $.08.

    Plausible deniability.

That way if men in black fast rope down to your house you can deny everything.
