Why there are so many people in the "Religion & Beliefs" forums?

I wonder why there are so many people in the "Religion & Beliefs" forums! Most of them are just busy to advocate their opinions irrespective of either being a believer or a non-believer or whatever. They are just busy in arguments over the most futile things in life. Is this an indicator why common people are known as 'common people' with less intellect, more talks and less action?

Questions about identity -- where did we originate is important because it is the fundamental basis of who we are.

Having a religion or not having a religion plays an important part in the direction of our lives.

We are self centered and egoistic individuals, we tend to believe that what we believe in is the right one...We lack respect to others belief, that is why we tend to impose our belief system to others..

And so both sides tend to gang up on each other and tend to change each other..

Yes, you said right. But there are so much to talk about in life and HP is a great place to find the right person. When I see so many people here are highly intellectually designed I regret if I could have a face to face chat with them in a regular basis! That would be great to enrich myself, you know... I'm not just that skilled to chat in the cyberspace! Sometimes it becomes painful to me to see people are just engaged in establishing their egos over others! Can you tell me why we are so egoistic that we sometimes tend to forget that we are so fortunate by being born as human beings?

Sometimes we fail to accept people as they are -- we lack understanding. We are born that way due to our social upbringing -- to go beyond that is wonderful.

Dont think to hard on it. People just like to debate.

Right but there are so much more worthy things to debate really! Why adamantly and stubbornly on God, God and only God?

Its not just God. Go to any other forum.

I was wondering that as well, and also at the same time realized (suddenly) that actually you can talk just about anything here on hubpages, it seems to be just like a regular forum you can find out there, only everyone here is an author with some hubs published. Didn't know that before, thought I had to ask only serious and hub related questions

Me too, really! But then don't you think we should not engage ourselves in too many dumb topics? You see how the true spirit of such a great place like our HP forums is being misused and sometimes abused! Are there any ways to stop this kind of activities like banning too much participation in dumb topics? Or do you think public forums like this shouldn't be controlled?

Personally I'd prefer HP is the place for more unique talk (like what I felt before), not the way I found out these couple of days, seems there's so much watery topics and they are coming every few seconds along with topics that we hubbers would prefer more. Seems like I can post something like "had hard time sleeping last night" after I'm done writing here. That is just so boring and meaningless to talk about here. No offense, please!

I don't understand what you're talking about! Can't you be a bit more subjective in your reply so that to be understood a bit better? Thanks. smile

Andy thats a slippery slope .Arguing and belittling of others ideas  on this topic should be discouraged by the civil  participants.

I believe I've hurted your "ego" raising this question, please excuse me then. Please pass on to your favorite topic and have fun! smile

No matter where you go people are fighting about their beliefs. Why there are so many people  posting to religion forums. Is simple , there are a ton of self righteous people out there that love to argue about something that cant be proven or dis proven.

I agree. You're right. Have any idea how to divert them into more productive subjects?
