I just wanted to pop in and say a big thank you to everyone on hubpages.  The community, the staffers, and everyone else! (Of course I guess it's just those two that read the forums but you know what I mean.)

I started from scratch and read everything I could on the most successful hubbers.  You've been an inspiration to me.  I work a full time job and have 3 kids.  It's been SUPER tough to devote so much of my most valued possession (time), but it's been well worth it.... I think my wife's about to kill me, but even she's getting convinced!

My Goal coming into hubpages was to read the 100 best business books in 100 weeks... although that goal has been modified, I found an even better one which was to try to write at least 1 hub per day.  I've done this.  Some of my hubs have been complete successes, and some of them complete failures, however; I'm encouraged by the growth I've seen.  I am currently at about 1600 hits per day and growing.  Who knows what will happen after Christmas time, but for now I'm getting excited about the future.

For about a year I've been unhappy with my job and have been looking for something to supplement my income for a time so that eventually I can go out on my own. There is also a creative side to me that has never been satisfied being behind a computer all day tracking financial markets. I have no doubt that hubpages is the place for me to be!

    Thanks again.

Hmmmm I think I hate you a little bit, are there any hubs in particular you found more helpful than others? *Feels like a slacker now*

I was not born a sceptic, but I am one now, your article has brought the worst out in me I am from Lancashire but living in Yorkshire where they call a spade a spade, are you a employee of the Hub? please convince me that my sceptisism is unfounded.

Congratulations, Brandon!  Well done, indeed.  I think a lot of our spouses, mine included, have wondered about our HP endeavors.  Must say, it doesn't take too long for them to become convinced.  smile

Nicely done! It does take some time to get it going but it can also be very rewarding when you stick with it. Congratulations on your success.

    Congrats Brandon!

Just a note -- the first hub of yours I looked at had a huge photo staring me in the face with the iStock Photo watermark on it. You do realize that's theft, right? iStock sells those photos and you cannot use them unless you purchase a license. Sorry to rain on your parade here.... sad

@Irohner can you tell me which hub?  If I did it it wasn't on purpose.  I'm sure you wouldn't find that in any of my other hubs.  Is there anyway to PM me with this?

      Thanks for the heads up.

Thanks for the heads up, I've fixed the problem.  When I was writing my first hub I was thinking that those were free stock photos... I've since learned about the "available for commercial reuse" on google.  Way better!

No problem. A lot of folks get confused with which photos they can use and which they can't. Although I've found that once people have some of their own work stolen and plopped up somewhere else, they become real sensitive to that kind of stuff real quick! smile

      @cookingdiva

Thanks I literally knew nothing about all of this 3 weeks ago.  I had built some blogs in the past that never got off the ground, but the great articles here at hubpages gave me the information I needed to get some of them listed on the front page, which is hopefully where they'll stay!

Congrats on your efforts, Brandon. F.Y.I., one of the other sites I write for is very strict about photos and attribution. I can send you some more info on that if you like?
    The general rule for photos:
    1. make sure they are NOT copyright images,
    2. cite the source of the photos
example where you know the photographer: R.C.M.P. Musical Ride - the start of the final charge - photo by Freda Jones, from ioniclodge31.ca
example where photographer is not known: R.C.M.P. Musical Ride - the start of the final charge - photo from ioniclodge31.ca
    3. NEVER say "photo courtesy of..." unless you actually have the photographer's written permission to use the photo

    Continued success big_smilebig_smilebig_smilebig_smilebig_smile

Thanks RedElf.  I'm sure this is one of the more challenging issues for hubbers... and I never turn down free information.  That's why I couldn't help but read your "Fun, Easy Christmas Recipes - Ornaments to Bake - Great Family Fun!" hub when I went to your profile page!

Impressive!  Instead of reading, maybe you should write an e-book about how you were able to attract 10,000 readers in less than a month to your hubs. That would be another way to increase your internet income and your book would be popular because it's first hand experience.
