i was  roaming from one profile to other and suddenly  noticed that in about 15 minutes around 120 of my friends have changed their display pictures......i know why people are changing their display pictures to cartoon characters but i was just wondering that has face book turned more powerful than other social networking site, and news channel.

Last time I checked my Facebook, and following the Official South Park, it has over 17 million followers. Cartoons are the big thing, and considered friendly, and universal, and in some cases kid-friendly. It is up to authors to be aware of their responsibilities based on that too, of course. Well known character faces from movies work too. I am surprised how many hubbers choose Johnny Depp for instance! Even my partner uses an Avatar from a fave movie, it is a form of statement.
