Just wondering if anybody out there make a resolution in regards to HubPages for 2011.
I would like to -
1. Have 250 QUALITY hubs (total, lol, not write 250 more).
2. Have 1 million views.
3. Make at least $500 through AdSense and\or Amazon earnings. (Remember, I only signed up at the end of September, haha, so that might be pushing it!)
Might think of more goals... but for now, this is what's on my mind.
Hi, Good luck! I seem to have taken over a year to get to a 100 hubs! lol but I have had a couple of payouts so that is okay!
I'm still waiting for that first payout!! I am earning, just no check yet. I'm hoping 2011 will bring the money
It surprising me that you are still waiting for your first payout. In your other thread you told me that you are approaching 100k views.
Is that not enough to get your payout? Right now how much are you in short?
I guess it's not enough...
I'm only (roughly) three thousand views short of 100K views, but I'm averaging anywhere from 1,000 to up to 2,000 views per day.
At the rate my hubs are going, I would feel rather confident saying I will reach the $100 mark by the middle of January.
It is a good sign that you can achieve your second goal. Better earnings will come if you do keyword research.
Did you regularly make keyword research before publishing hubs?
I didn't even know what keyword research was when I first started with HP!
I'm learning more and more each day and trying to get better with that aspect.
I think you might have to temper your expectations just a little.
You might have to half or quarter that goal to what is really achievable in one year...
I see your point, but I like setting high expectations for myself.
How amazing will it be if I could reach even 2 of my goals!
For the most part your goals seem reasonable, and I share them. I hope to average 2 hubs a week for the year, giving me something over 200 total.
After 7 months I've earned (although not been paid yet) over $400, so $500 for the year seems kind of low. I expect more.
I'll not see a million views this year, but that's OK. A reasonable ECPM (earnings per 1000 views) for HP has been reported to be $2-5, so a million views should net around $3000 and I don't expect that either. By the end of the year I would hope to see a fairly consistent $300 per month, though.
I appreciate your insight here, wilderness.
Best of luck with your success at HP as well.
KristenGrace
I hope you will easily cross your first goal. Second one may also be possible. But I am not sure about your third goal.
All the goals you are aiming should have been achievable.
All the best to you.
edit:
My goal is to get consistent 500 views per day.
Thanks for responding, TopUniverse.
I'll have to keep working towards my third - I know it's a toughie!
Good luck with your goal.
My HP Resolutions for 2011 (in no particular order) are:
Beat my highest author score of 91 and keep it in the nineties
Beat my highest hub score of 81
Hit 100 hubs
Reach 100 followers
Make more than $0.63AUD in Adsense
Make anything with Amazon
The biggest one:
Keep enjoying my writing & my time on HP!!!
Happy New Year
I love your biggest goal - Happy New Year to you as well!
My goal is to have 1 million views this year, not there yet, buuuut I just reached 100,000 so I'm on my way
Kristen's working it. Unless she gets hit by a bus and dies, or returns to focusing on poetry hubs, Kristen will FAR EXCEED her goals WAY AHEAD of schedule.
It ain't about luck, Hon. You'll be fine.
This was 7 weeks ago, and it looks like I just might meet some goals!
Updates:
1. 224 Hubs written total so far
2. Over 230,000 Views
3. Over $200 earned so far...
I'd love to here of anybody else's goals and how you're making out now that we're 2 months into 2011!

A million views are fantastic for an HP writer. It's what we strive to achieve. Recently, a write hit a million views with just two articles! How is that possible?

I have just surpassed 50 000 views on Hubpages and I know I have been a member for ages but I really only started writing properly here a few months ago.Do you think I can get 950 000 views by December 31st 2011?I am going to update this thread with any new landmarks as I go along. Have you a...

I want to thank Hubpages for allowing me to publish here. You were my first love for publishing online. I still haven't found another lover like you and can't seem to let you go. With all the arguments and disagreements I am still here. Hopefully, I'll fall in love with you like before.I have been...

This hubber has 10 million views and just 15 hubs. He or she doesn't even bother explainining who /he she/ is on profile page. Writes about stuff like iphones. Are we all missing a trick. Do you think this person could be making serious dosh?

I know there have been a lot of changes and I really appreciate that. I also am looking forward to the new hub layout...but...with disappointment. In any business, one must first make their assessment about what works and what doesn't. The things that don't work, you either fix them or get rid of...

I know that there is no "average" amount of time, but I am just curious. I see plenty of old-timers here who have that accolade. I have been here over 4 years, and I am about a third of the way there.
