Congratulations, Glenn! That's a huge milestone. We are so thankful to have you as a part of our community, and we appreciate the time you take to help newcomers to the site find their feet. Many an article has been improved with your help!
You will, Miebakagh. I am noticing the effort you put into it, and you deserve a lot of credit for that. The wonderful thing is that everyone on HubPages has a chance to get lots of views. For that matter, many authors here are way ahead of me.
I'm incredibly delighted with all the congratulatory replies I've received. It is tremendously encouraging. HubPages is a platform where everyone can achieve success as long as they are determined to deal with the challenge. Thank you all.
Thank you Maria. It takes time too, but it's time well-spent. Not many other types of work continue to pay reciduals for work done once. Writing software and writing educational articles are two I can think of.
MPG. Narrative, I agree with you. One should be determine, not loss heart, not give up, and remember the spider story trying to get home, and told by the old king. And before one would say Jack, the spider was home before the very eyes of the King. This 'foolish thing' that nearly 'kill itself' made it? And, the King had cause to change his mind and change the story! 'Bravo, bravo', he cry. 'Honour to all those who try'. Glenn, deserves the honour. Let it be continous with his 'happy dance'.
Congratulations Glenn. That’s a wonderful milestone reached there. Thank you for being a helpful Hubber too. You may not know it but you’ve been of tremendous help to many of us over the years. Well done. Well deserved.
Four years sure went by fast, Barbara. I remember chatting with you on the last day, after Maven's final conference meeting. Congratulations on approaching 12 Million. I agree that they need more accolades. They're spread too far apart.
There was a fellow writer on HubPages who used to criticize me for writing "Christian" instead of writing "disciple of Christ." We went back and force about the terms for a long time. Since he was one of my dedicated followers, I gave in and began writing "disciples of Christ" instead of "Christian."
After that, we became good friends even though we never met in person. He no longer writes for HubPages because he became very ill and died. He emailed me and told me the doctors said he was too old to get more surgeries. Now, every time I am tempted to write "Christian" I remember his argument, and I write "disciple of Christ" instead. I smile as I think about him and how convincing he was.
On Easter Sunday I finally hit the million views checkpoint. Took a long time to get there, but it was nice reading the email HP sends you on reaching this accolade. This is a good time to thank the staff at HP, no one ever says it enough - they are doing and have always been doing a great job here.
Debated on even posting since my days of people actually recognizing my name are long gone on here. However I am super excited so I had to share. Would have hit it a lot sooner here if I wasn't always deleting articles so I can move them and rewrite them elsewhere. Still a big deal to me. YAY! Now...
This is from starting with two Hubs in May, 2013, and building up to 54 Hubs. Actually, I reached one million views on October 1st but, like so many others have reported, every subsequent stats update from then deducted numbers from my total views. I reached this milestone again on...
It's been a long journey, but I just passed the big 10 Million on this account. Woohoo! A big thank you to Hubpages, which taught me so much about SEO, digital marketing, and writing starting in 2009. If I hadn't got my start here, I doubt I'd be in the career I am in today.
