Can anyone explain exactly how these work -and how I can use them to full effect?
You can use your tracker so that when people sign up to HP through your link, you get a cut (10% I think) of the impressions on their hubs. Just grab your tracker and put it in a link like this:
You can also use your tracker when referring people to other hubs. Just use the "Share" button on the hub (if you're signed in) and grab that URL. You then get 120 minutes of traffic referral impressions, so you can potentially make money from their hub.

I really don't know the answer. Why don't you send a note up to the HP team?
