There are literally tons of misconceptions of life. I have really thought long and hard about certain things. I have come to the realization that many things that I am told are inaccurate or just plain not true.
For instance I have much more complicated ones, but I can start with an easy one: I am right handed.
I was told that I am a righty, and any time I ever thought about going to do anything with my left hand, it was either too hard, or a coach told me to stop messing around. I never realized my left hand sucked, only because I never used it.
It is a work in progress, but my left hand is really becoming a great asset. I can do many more things with my left hand. Something I wish I would have done when I was younger.
What is 1 misconception that you have come to find out was inaccurate?
Lots and lots of them, and still counting...
How about "the government cares about you", for a starter
How about "you have to use soap to be healthy" for the next one?
Actually this one corresponds to my observations. In fact when I stopped shaving every day my hair seemed to become thinner, at least they are softer. And grow much slower
About the brain
You only use X percent of your brain.
The left hemisphere is for logic and reasoning, the right is for art, creativity, intuition.
This stuff comes from a time without MRI and PET scan.
Oh I have a good one...
People act like they know what they are talking about.
People you are friendly and helpful with won't screw you over.

Does Trump lie too much? Is he becoming like the "Thought Police" of 1984?I understand that politicians are spin-doctors in their own right. However, it seems like Trump is trying to rewrite history, much like the "Thought Police" in Orwell's _1984_. He provided...

Left-handed or right-handed child? If your toddler showed a preference of using their left hand over their right, would you try and persuade them to change to being right-handed? I have no problem with this at all, but one of my friends will not allow her child to use their left hand at all,...
