I've written 28 hubs now of varying quality though my later ones have got better as I've spent more time on them.
However, one I did yesterday which I think is quite good, though a minority interest, granted, has been marked down to 47 .. the lowest of them all and 6 lower than a basic page which will grow as a introductory page to the various musicians as I write them.
It will probably pick up but I'm curious if I've missed some obvious reason why it would have been voted down.
anyone ?

I think this is because of 'tag' usage, internal linking(hubkarma) and outbound links which sets the score initially. It drops based on those and some other factors. This is just a theory from my side so you need to ask staff member for the actual reason behind it. Don't worry about it, you'll get rise in hubscore in next 48 hours or so.
For some reason this Hub looks short, although it's over 500 words. Perhaps it's the way it's laid out - I would split up some of the paragraphs a bit further.
How about finding some photos of Santorini to dress it up a bit? I see there are quite a few clips on Rembetika on Youtube, consider adding one or two of those too, if you can find relevant ones.
Final question - how long has it been published? All Hubs start out around the 50 mark and take time to settle at their final level.
I agree with Skyfire -- just be patient and the score will rise. And I really like the content, although I found it a bit strange that you talk about a musician and his life without really discussing his music. Seemed a bit empty to me without it.
Some hubs go backwards first, it will move forward.
It's a well-written, interesting hub. I would definitely try to find a video with his music, as anyone searching for musicians like to listen to their music. Or if someone found your hub not knowing anything about him, a video can introduce them to his music. Interactions with the viewer can help them stay on the page longer.
I would also break it up into more capsules and give each capsule a good heading using your keywords, and put a heading on the photo capsule.

What do you do when you're awake until the wee hours for no good reason?I've been noticing I've been spending more than a few late nights creating hubs, reading hubs, and just generally dawdling around hubpages. Wondering if there's others out there, or what you guys do when you find yourself up...

Why do you write hubs? Money, fame, enjoy writing, personal cleansing?Writing hubs is a fantastic way for me to unwind after work, and at the same time have a third-party attributed value assigned to that writing, which lets me also fulfill some competitive aspect of my personality. Why do other...

My author score is now 88. I've been active on the forums, hopping hubs, and answering questions. I haven't had this low of score since when I first started. Does removing poorly performing hubs cause author scores to go down or what is the problem?

I've noticed that there is at least one post claiming to have gained a significant amount of traffic this week, but for me, my traffic has dropped by 50%. One hub, which at its height was getting over 4k hits a day, is now down to 500 hits daily, and every other hub on my account has dropped...

I'm extremely under-impressed since the **Maven** takeover. Yes, I regard it as a hostile takeover, and not a friendly merger! My earnings and traffic are WAY, WAY DOWN compared to last year at this same time, when they were way, way UP!!While I am still making payout each month, I am seeing a...

For a good number of weeks my hubber score has hovered around the 100 mark. Two days ago it started falling, and as I write this, it is down to 89! If this keeps up, it will be 0 in a week! No rhyme or reason to it, but it leaves me wondering why this is happening. I know...
