Should we dump internal links to placate the Panda?

The new Google Panda update has hurt sites than contain internal links. I have a lot of these, to my own hubs in the same niche. Would it be a good idea to get rid of these?

Personally, I like internal links when they lead a reader to a similar topic.

^ I suspect that you've either misunderstood, or blown out of proportion, something that you've read somewhere.

The account I have here which has a lower Karma score (less internal links) has lost a higher percentage of traffic than the account which has a higher Karma score (more internal links).

You are welcome to dump whatever you want, that's the freedom of having Hubs.

How did you get your hands on that pic from my younger days !

Apart from any 'manipulation' most internal links have been beween unrelated hubs just cos it was somebody's mate or toher.  I believe that irrelevant links are penalised bigtime in this change, Links and quantity are more than half of what Google can measure, it can't measure quality.

Misunderstood? Sure, but there is so much to try to understand, that's why I asked the question. And not only me personally, but for HP at large.

Don't dump your internal links as that would be a mistake - especially if they are relevant.

In fact I would actually say for your hubs that aren't doing well make sure that they "have" internal links.  This doesn't mean that your hubs that are doing well shouldn't have links (I just want to point this out before someone says something about it smile )

'there is so much to try to understand'

^ True enough.  And sorry if I sounded short, I didn't mean to sound critical.

What I meant was, that in my opinion, internal linking is at the heart of any decent website, is a good thing, and I can't imagine that it was a factor at all.

Quite Right... And the number of internal links within HP were in fact one reason why HP had a lot of clout (or Should I say Juice?) .. I believe that some of the 'problem' that HP have had in this regard, has been HOW those links have been Manipulated within HP... sad

We have ALL suffered from that 'manipulation' - effectively it ONLY Rewarded a Select Few...  sad

No.... Sorry Sofs.. not if I wish to continue to write here!

Let's just say: Many 'cheating' things have been done here in the past... and the 'cheaters' have been rapped over the knuckles by more than just Google!
I'm sure things will all add up if you look at the whole picture!
Right now... lots of things (and People) here have DeFragged.. Lots of 'senior' hubbers are all developing new sites, new entities, new income streams and for some; new escape routes... This World has changed...
That's the Sadness.. the real people feel sad

No.. sorry I didn't mean to come across as rude.. I'm just aware that every post in these forums are a public record and I think a lot of people are waiting to see HP fall apart.
It doesn't need a stack of negative posts.. that perhaps contain too much info yeah? hmm
Things are really hard for a lot of us here Sofs!

as far as OP, I see no reason to eliminate relevant internal links.

I find it annoying finding 'broken link' signs on a lot of my hubs bc hubs were unpublished tongue lol

I agree - I thought are purpose here was evergreen and now we must edit like crazy and try to keep up with the broken links.  The time it takes to hunt for the links is killing me.  I have just about given up on that one.

I do appreciate the malicious links - and actively seek to correct those.
