Poll Capsule & Extreme Hub Makeover

   We just released an update to the site.  The biggest change is the addition of the first new capsule in a long, long time -- the often requested poll capsule.  Here is a sample hub with a poll.  We've also added a new forum called Extreme Hub Makeover.  It's a place where people can ask for advice on hubs and even include a link to the hub.  All links in this forum will nofollow.
   
   As usual let us know if you have any problems.

   And, I like the Extreme Makeover forum, too.  As a new hubber, it will be great to get to critiques from experienced hubbers to see if I am on the right track.

       We're thinking about adding this feature...do you think it would be helpful?
       
       I know that it would be really cool to know who voted and what they voted for. It could even potentially be used for some interesting research.
       
       I have also been thinking about possible ways to receive updates on poll results as more and more people vote. Maybe something like being able to receive a daily update of the voting?
       
       I don't want it to become too annoying, but I would like to be reminded periodically if people are voting on my Hub.

    I love the poll capsule and my new personal favorite hubpages feature is now the hub metrics which can be viewed in your hub stats really cool thanks for this one guys its the best yet.....jimmy

       Oh my, I almost forgot that I added that.  Thanks for reminding me Jimmy.  I think some people were asking for their hub's word count, you can now find that and other interesting things under the "Hub Metrics" tab after clicking "View Stats" on one of your hubs.
       
       We also tightened up the design of the logged out version of the home page, and improved the cosmetics of a few other pages.

          In the 3 or so months that I've been here (not very long at all... but) I've learned something new today.
          
          I don't think that I've ever even clicked on "View Stats" on my hubs. Very cool! Hub Metrics seems pretty darn cool too! I like seeing the "$$", "$$$", "$$$$" & "$$$$$" on some of my hubs. Don't really like the "$" ones But I guess one "$" is better than 0 "$".
          
          How many dollar signs can they go up to? Just curious.

    Are you planning to update the Help documentation to reflect them, or maybe you did, and I missed it?  Was there an announcement about these changes, and I missed that, too?  I find that I'm learning about the improvements from Hubbers who are contributing to this forum thread.  What about newcomers to HP?  How will they know the powerful features associated with this site?

    I just noticed the poll capsule and added it to a few of my book children's book review hubs. I'm excited about it, and hoping it will catch those readers who don't want to take the time to comment. Great idea!

          Hi Ryan, I am using it to solicit the opinion of visitors about the recommendations of 6th Pay Commission for central government employees in India. I think this hub has achieved a hub score of 100 because of the poll capsules used in this hub other than the content. Traffic flow to this hub has been amazingly high (>3000 in a week). Thanks  again for  this wonderful widget.

    The new features are coming fast and furious(ly). The metrics and the polls are so good I can't decide which one I like best, but I'm using lots of polls. The polls give readers an easy way to communicate with the writers, and a quick way for writers to know they're actually being read.

    It may be just my old, beat-up IBM laptop, but sometimes when I go in to edit mode to see the what the vote totals look like, the poll results continue to appear when  I close out the edit mode. Just wondering if anyone else is having this problem?

    Given that a growing number of my hubs are political in nature (and probably will continue to be until at least November 4) I can see where this will be a good addition. The results are not scientific, but they do give the opportunity for some interesting "gee wiz" information.
    
    I've already used a poll on my hub about Palin, and I've had better response than I anticipated.
