This is a great idea. Now I won't have to make any more of those HUBS that really are more of a forum type post. On the other hand, the forums on ETSY.com and other places can have some pretty ugly pissing contests so I hope we can all play nice. I'm a little worried about sniping.
I guess time will tell.
Nice to stretch my legs and see who else is around. Hey, Paul, do we get a signature line? I want mine to say Moonmaiden, the first HUBBETTE.
I love it. Hubbette. Jay was talking about something similar to this last night. We'll put this on our feature list for forums. Thanks for the suggestion.
Forums seem to attract a troll element no matter what the subject or niche the forum is catering to.
I'm sure the Admin's can get use the ban stick on any rogue elements that wish to try and sully this fresh oasis of Hubpage love.
I think a lot of the writers haven't discovered the forums yet. I'm sure we are going to be very busy over here. I'm beginning to think the time has come when I could actually make a living as a writer on line. That's been one of my dreams forever, because then I could live wherever I want or even travel as long as I had computer access. Some of the sites I'm earning money from are mylot.com, gather.com, associated_content.com, constant_content.com and hubpages with google adsense. Though I haven't gotten a check from adsense yet, so the jury is still out on that one. I'm supposed to get one this month.
As more and more people need fresh webpage content to attract the search engines, more sites are willing to pay writers. I don't mind the residual income, but I'm happier when I just get an out right check for the article. In other words, I submit a 400 word article and they write me a check.
Also, I believe in not putting all my eggs in one basket. What if googleadsense turns off my account for some obscure TOS issue? What if the site I write for closes without warning? That's why I write for so many different sites now. Hedging my bet. When Hubpages had a cash prize, I wrote for them every day. Basically, I'll follow the money, and I'm guessing most online writers will too.
Thanks for the informative post Moonmaiden.
If you could contact me through my profile I'd like a list of those sites (with a brief description of each, or a link to somewhere that explains them), with your affiliate referral link in them
I'm guessing other people will want to know too, so I'll just post it here. Let me see if I can put them all in one place:
http://hubpages.com/_l6f64eotqm13/hub/G … e_Internet
http://hubpages.com/_l6f64eotqm13/hub/A … s_on_MyLot
http://hubpages.com/_l6f64eotqm13/hub/W … er_Dot_Com
I'll send them to your profile as well to make it easier to find later when there are thousands of forum posts.
Is it just me or does the new hubpage logo look very phallic?
Here is another excellent article I just stumbled across about sites that pay you to write online. http://www.gather.com/viewArticle.jsp?a … 4976958081
Of course in my comment I told them to come to HUBPAGES.

I am reviled yet my forums create all kinds of participation. I like and I am not going anywhere! There are some who indicated a boycott to not speak ever on what I write. They are writers heretics. I bless them and invite them to stay away. This is not written for you.Writers here are often...

Okay this is great! I downloaded it this morning, and it's really working wonderfully. We all know Edweirdo, a very clever and useful hubber who created the HubDefender tool for us all which detects hub-theft and assists in dealing with it. Edweirdo has also written many helpful tutorial hubs on...

So other than the fact that Google has apparently decided I am a crappy writer and my traffic is down from 17k a day to maybe 1600... with a similar decline in income... Do we yet know why this happened? Feeling a little bitter. Have had to take on enough clients that I rarely have time to...

I say thank you Panda for helping to restore quality content to search engine results. Hubpages definitely has gotten better-- the spam is gone and the cream is rising to the top. Also, I'm making more money than I ever have in the four years I've been on Hubpages so I'm a very happy...
