This picture was taken on January 19th only 5 days ago, showing the spectacular aurora borealis over Norway! It looks like a phoenix
It is a real photograph and not a fake
Striking! Are you used to seeing the sky so...I don't know. I think I'd freak out, be in shock seeing the sky like that.
Up here in the north of England we can see it but only at certain times. However if you go to Aberdeen its quite normal to see them
I'm pretty sure it was on the BBC news that you can see the aurora borealis as far south as Yorkshire just now, due to sunspot activity. Have you got a clear sky to look?
Couple of cracking photos here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-16685364
We have just seen it here, its beautiful and rare. We have never seen it here in Carlisle before. I have just heard that there are rumours that the magnetic pole has allegedly shifted and that strange noise that is going on around the world may have something to do with it x
Nahh..it's just solar flares and stuff and we get them every year just about. When I listen out, all I hear are the baby foxes in the campo and the cat across the street.
Got any photos?
I've only ever seen the Northern Lights twice in my lifetime, despite living most of it a lot further north than you.
It looks like a giant nostril in the sky!!
I wish I could see them again, but not only am I too far south, there is a bloody great mountain blocking my view of the northern sky.
I lived in Norfolk for a while, we saw the Northern Lights on several occasions!
Not good izzy, mind you if Scotland gets its independence you could move back x
John I did not know you could see them that far south x
I'm moving back soon anyway. Trouble with Scotland is getting those danged clouds to shift to actually see the sky.
Are those colors real? Green? Or is that just the camera? I told my son to come look, he thought I meant something wonderful in OUR part of the sky and had to tell him real quick - he loves pix like this but he likes best to take them himself.
I'm pretty sure if I had been the first to see that, I would start a new religion.
Awesome photo - what an amazing site that must be to see in person!
Awesome sky and equally awesome photograph. If I had taken that I would be raving with joy! Thanks for sharing.

I find that the time period is usually under a week. Once I had one go with no response for 3 weeks. Finally, I emailed the team and the next day it was approved. My last submission has gone 10 days without a response. What is your experience with this?

I have seen you at 99. Time and time again. I have suspected you of having a 100, but could not catch you in the act. Tonight there it was. And I was ready with my snipper tool at hand. Damn those elusive numbers. What do they mean and how do they know? I...
