Since it's copyright infringement to just add some famous song to a video, I am wondering about how to add royalty-free (or whatever it's called music) to a video. Hmmm
Here's what I mean... when I upload a video to YouTube, it gives me the opportunity to overlay it with a selection of non-illegal songs. They have a giant list you get to choose from.
What can I do for my videos here at HubPages, to get music on them? I don't know if I can just go to YouTube and use their non-illegal songs, I figure it's probably a service they offer maybe solely on YouTube.
Does anyone know where I can find songs like these? If not, do you know how I can better word my question so I can better find the answer myself... like are the songs called royalty-free or something along those lines?
I'm asking this because I'm too shy to just talk on camera, so if I put some light, quiet music on, it would be nice.
What I have done for some of my videos, for music, is to Google "Creative Commons Music Downloads". This will give you various sources of music you can use to add to your videos.
Good to know of that - thanks, Dale!
I prepared a video with some music that I know is in the public domain. But after I finished, I re-thought and realized that the performance itself could be covered by copyright! So I removed the music and have been planning to add some of my own, but I haven't taken the time yet to create it.
I'll check out the CC Music Downloads - so much simpler, for now!
Very helpful suggestion Dale, I have been stuck with the music too.. since I have had the same problem as Melbel. I appreciate this very much.
Megaupload expects to conduct a Huge Worldwide Sale soon!
I believe they are waiting for the FBI to provide a suitable take out service for any New Releases!

Are there any copyright issues associated with posting YouTube videos in hubs?In short, is there any way to get in trouble for doing this if it is a video from a user other than yourself?

I'm planning a hub about one particular actor in one particular scene of a movie. Without a visual representation of the actor in the scene the article would be meaningless, but no free or non-copyrighted photos appear to exist. To me this seems a classic case for Fair Use, as reflected in this...
