What are your plans for celebrating the day, if you have any??

Me, I'm going to celebrate with all the loves of my life -- dinner, movie, laughs and surprises throughout the day.

Hope y'all have fun today!  smile

My first Valentine's Day on HubPages has made me realize that I've never even dated a writer.  My first wife was a math prodigy and my current wife is a multi-tasking manager.  Both admirable, sure, but not writers....

The women writers on HubPages are mysterious, brilliant, creative, and certainly less full of themselves than most male writers.  For that, you get a Valentine from me!

      <3 Happy Valentines Day !!

There, now don't you feel better?

Thank you, Beth.  May your valentine be special, too.  The holiday is a sort of prelude to Spring to many in my part of the world.  The ground is covered in ice and snow as I look out my window now.  But..

          Beyond Valentine’s Day,
          Not too far distant now,
          Spring approaches.

          Past reincarnations,
          Of our fond memory,
          Blooming as love.

            Jason,

The poem is beautiful!!  Thank you!! smile

The landscape here is still encrusted in ice and snow too.  Temperatures are still freezing and at the moment, large snow flakes are drifting down leisurely from the sky.

I did hear the spring birds singing early this morning, so I know that spring is around the corner.  smile

Aw thanks so much. I have had a hard year, but everything is getting better.  Just got work, i am teaching people with  head injuries in a college in Dublin.  I went for the interview two years ago and they just got funding.  It is only one day a week, and it may only be for a term but it is a wonderful opportunity for me........  Also have a new grandson called Finn, and i have got some work, in a school teaching knitting and crafts.   I could not work last year, after i lost my dad, so soon after losing my mum..... but getting on my feet and happy to be back......  Some things never change, it is nice to receive a warm welcome on hub pages, but so miss Cris.... how sad.........

I'll be spending the day of love closeted away romantically with not one, but three other guys (and two other girls) in a dishroom, scrubbing the crap off of other people's trays! big_smile

@ Joy --  I'm sorry that you lost both your mom and dad. sad  I hadn't known that.

Congratulations on your position!  Once the funding is in place, there is a very good chance that it will be re-funded next year.  smile  I'm looking for work too.  I'm leaving, rather left, the field of health care.  Onto brighter and better horizons. smile

Congratulation on Finn!  He must keep you busy!  smile  Nothing like a wee li'l one to keep you on your toes.  Best part -- you get to spoil him rotten and send him home at the end of the day (you will always be the heroine no matter what!)  smile  I do that with mine when I see him (yea, he's 4 but lives thousands of kilometers away).

Very happy for you Joy!!  smile

here is Finn, and my daughter Carla........  He has a big brother and sister, and they live quite close so i am blessed.  I have 8 grandchildren now. 6 Boys and two girls, these are the only ones living near, the rest are far away.  I may look after Finn when his mum goes to back to work in September, we will see how things go...... This is a lovely thread.  Nice to speak Beth.

@ Joy -- Your daughter Carla is a beautiful mom!!!  And Finn - he's gorgeous!!  I miss holding my babies, but as I say, it's the next generation's turn.  smile  I never would have guessed you have 8 grandchildren!!  You look so young.  smile  They are blessed to have a wonderful grandmother like you.  My mom looked after my niece when my sister went back to work.  They have an incredible bond.  Unfortunately, my children and I moved far away and she wasn't able to help me with my little gang.  But, she enjoys them immensely when we visit.  We stayed with them for over a half a year, a few years ago, and my children and my parents are extremely close.  smile

Family.  The best gift in the world.  smile

Thank you Joy, you've brightened my day with your smiles.  smile
