I read in a recent hub that one needs to "ping" one's hub so that Google and the other search engines can "index" the article.
I can't even find my hubs in Google, so can't ping them from there. How do I do this? Or are hubpages automatically indexed by the search engines?
Thanks for any feedback,
No you don't need to ping your hubs and no hubs aren't automatically indexed. I just wrote a hub around what Google says you should do to get ranked in their search engine: Google Explains SEO
Thanks, I'll read the article and see what's up.
Although you dont need to ping your hub to be noticed by Google, it can drive traffic to you from the smaller blog networks, circles of blogs similar to hub
I just finished outlining a few resources at my latest hub

The ping.fm resource is great as it will log in to all your social profiles and post updates and links back to your hub!

How and where can we get our hubs indexed in search engines? There are some hubs and articles, but they are not up with the times. Is there a list of places where we can index our hubs ourselves?

Wordpress submits each post to ping services like pingomatic. Should we be submitting our Hubs to these services or submit a ping each time we post a new Hub?

I thought if a hubpage was listed in Google search it was featured. But apparently that is not the truth. I guess I will keep the hubs up and run my own check on them.

The Googlebot visits new hubs within 30-60 minutes while they are in 'Pending' mode and the NOINDEX tag is in place for 24 Hours. This means that the bot does not index the page, and does not return for days or weeks....
