For the first time in months (and I mean months!) I have woken up to traffic stats liberally sprinkled with those wonderful red arrows. My traffic has actually gone up a bit yeah!!!!!
So I will enjoy the moment and bask in my sense of achievement lol Because one of the valuable lessons I have learned as a plunger is that you cannot take anything for granted and that adaptability and an awful lot of resilience is needed to get you through the long haul. I have also gone back to why I started, which was a desire to write. So even if those arrows turn blue tomorrow, I will just keep on writing what I want to write, but spread the articles around a bit more putting some on my own blogs and other sites, as well as HP.
Good news about your traffic - hope it's just the start of an upward curve
Oh I hope this is the end of the plunge for you CM! It gives the rest of us hope
To anyone reading here, CM was one of the original August 10th plungers along with me and Randy Godwin.
There is no sign of my traffic returning - if anything, my traffic is down a little again today. (Not too worried, a couple of my new subdomains are UP)
My fingers are crossed for you, toes too!
Thanks Empress and Izzy. Even if it is only a little surge for today I'm just going to enjoy it for as long as it lasts. The sun is shining also, so maybe spring has sprung and things are starting to move forward again. Keep your eyes peeled for those little red arrows Izzy, they are coming your way!
Well at this point it is still going up - a couple of my hubs that used to regularly get around 50 hits a day have around that now. Thanks for the good wishes Thrifty Lady! Fingers tightly crossed!
Good for you, CM! Mine jumped up for a couple of days last Dec. but dropped again after reaching pre-panda levels. I hope your surge is permanent, my traffic is even lower today.
Sorry to hear that Randy - do snakes accept hugs? If so a big hug of consolation from across the pond. If the surge is only for a couple of days then so be it - I'll enjoy it while it lasts! There is a new moon in Aries today, so it a time for active, energetic new beginnings!
Thanks for the good thoughts, CM! I just hope your traffic keeps rising instead of getting your hopes up as my short return to normal did mine. But I'll never get comfortable again here as nothing is certain to last. Fingers crossed for your continued success!
Do you think that its a good life lesson - never get too comfortable anywhere as nothing is guaranteed to last? That's why I'm enjoying today - tomorrow may be completely different.
Wishing you all the red arrows in the world and hope that you, Izzy and I can climb out of this danged sandbox once and for all!
So do I, Cynthia! Although I did get a wee bit of perverse pleasure out of the sudden fall of traffic to some who suggested we were at fault because of our particular writing abilities. I didn't say "I told you so," even though I was sorely tempted. Besides, I do not wish for them to go through what we have, despite their somewhat haughty attitude towards the "plungers"!
Well we are only human (or reptile!) and the urge to I 'told you so' was great at times, but resisted even when the howls of outrage were emitting from some hubbers who had been particularly smug. I agree with you in that a long term plunge of traffic is not something I would wish on anyone, I may have learned important lessons from it, but there are more pleasant learning environments and the loss of cash hit many hard.
We plungers have done our time I feel, so we need out of the box and once more into the wider world of traffic. But even if I only have a day pass this time, I'm going to enjoy my day out. Cocktail or two?
Sure, you deserve at least 3 cocktails, Cynthia! Just tell 'em to put it on my tab!
What great news, CM! You deserve every red arrow you can get. Here's hoping they'll keep blossoming throughout all your hubs!
I am seeing red (arrows) too! My traffic is almost back up to where it was 2 or 3 weeks ago before the Google hit! :-)
Great news - hope those red arrows keep on appearing
Thanks, I am pleased for you too!
I am hoping for an enormous spike! lol But after being down in the dumps, more or less since mid-December, I will take what I've got, which is more modest rise, but maybe more realistic to hold onto!
I lost about 20% when Panda 3.3 hit, now most of it has come back over the past 2 or 3 days.
That is a good news!! I hope others like Izzy and Randy will follow!!
I'm just bumping this thread (because I can!)
Also because it may bring hope to those of caught in the doldrums.
There is a light at the end of the tunnel!
Yes, a light. It could be a train comin' tho, Izzy!
I think in my case it was a f*cking train coming! LOL
Last week I got a big rise, this week it eased back, but is above what it has been since the big plunge. Izzy, keep positive, your turn will come. A few months ago you said something like "what goes around comes around again". Your words kept me hopeful, now I give them back to you.

We've been fairly busy at HubPages the last couple of days recovering from hardware issues with two of our five database servers. Fortunately we were able to cut over to our hot stand by machines with very little downtime. We've repaired the hardware and are now back to full...

Hello everyone!I want to apologize for the site troubles we had this morning. Our main data center had an outage this morning that impacted all of HubPages.com. Your traffic stats and earnings will most likely be lower today because of the outage. We work hard to keep the site available and...

So here I am, dreaming of another sultry Sunday afternoon, sipping on a slightly subdued mango margarita, and silently wishing I was wasting life away off the coast of somewhere beautiful. Of course, my mental illusions are far different from physical realities. I haven't ventured outside in...

This is very, very, unfortunate, but it seems I have been penalized by a Google Alg or something. I have OVER 100 HUBS that have BLUE ARROWS. My traffic went down earlier this year a bit, but stayed consistent for several months. Now it has dropped by 50%. Not sure if this occurred today or...

I've been slowly going up the scale with my page views, to the point where my daily views are usually close to 350 total per day. All of a sudden today it began dropping, and is now down to 241.Is that normal? I can't find any message that there was a problem with my pages, and some of...
