I found some interesting questions from fellow hubbers and helpful answers from kind hubbers. I will go through those again if when I encounter the same problems. However, I couldn't find an answer to what I am so frustrated about.
The HubPages video on Vimeo: "How to use the Amazon Capsule on HubPages" is very clear and easy to follow, but I am encountering problems after following instructions step by step.
Problem: Got my Amazon ID, opened Amazon capsule & picked products BUT won't post or save the capsule (the button 'Preview Amazon Results' won't even click)so that it will show on my hub page. Tried html and url too but won't do. What's is going on? Please help.
Thank you.
I assume you are able to log into your amazon account?
Try it first and pick some products.Get text links and put a few in a hub to test .
i dont know why you cant set up an amazon capsule yet.
Thank you for your quick reply, Stacie! Really appreciate it.
Yes, I can log into my Amazon account. I have done everything that you have advised here but my problem lies where in the Amazon capsule on my hub; the same with the text capsule using (html), the capsules' "save" button won't work. Am I missing something?
I just tested this on one of my hubs and it works. are you choosing specific products or using keywords.
In the over five months I have been here I have never been able to preview my Amazon items. However, once published they appear in the hub. I have no idea why that is a problem. Ebay works just fine on the previews.
If you choose specific products, copy the ASIN code from the Amazon product description to the "add description" part of the capsule. You probably also didn't specify the number of items to display.
You can also just use "choose keywords" button and just type in the keywords.
i did everything. it's still not working...
Ahm... You probably still don't have Amazon ID affiliate code?
Have you configured it in the my accounts section?
Hi all
I read the top post and I am having same problem, I have the Amazon ID, and chose a product, I copied and paste the HTML code into my text body in the HTML window, and saved it but it disappears once it is saved and it does not appear on my hub even when published,
I also added a new Text capsule just for the link, opened the HTML editor, pasted the code, but the SAVE button does not work, I cannot save it
Is there a video where I can watch how to embed a HTML code in a text capsule? I could not find it, how do people ask for help on this Hubapges?
please help?? Thanks
Anna
Alright was having same problems posting Amazon products and hopefully, found the fix. Here's the code (sort of spread out so NOT live) for a product that gets auto-generated which we supposed to post in our amazon capsules, big code huh? MEANWHILE, the part that is UNDERLINED, is all you need to copy and paste into the HP amazon capsule. Hope this helps.

NO when in Amazon, go to TEXT links. You will see the window with this whole code in there - the part I underlined (is for SAMPLE purposes ONLY!), is ALL you need to HIGHTLIGHT and PASTE into your Amazon capsule for your products to show, least it works for me.
It may be due to you having only ONE hub though not sure really before applying for anything, if I were you, get those Hubs up first. Figure out what area's you want to write about (niche) and provide Hubs in those area's. It's best to write about interest's you enjoy after a minimum of 10 hubs, then reapply.
Wow, thanks again
I did try this time to choose only TEXT links on Amazon and pasted it in a new Text capsule HTML editor and yes it worked
And by the way, i was using the wrong capsule, i did not know I was supposed to use the Amazon capsule
Thank you for suggesting to choose only TEXT LINKS code, I have not found that info anywhere, it was very helpful hopefully others can read these posts if they are having same problem
I looked at some of your hubs, i like the knitting one :-) a lot
Cool
The easiest way is to go to the product you want on Amazon, copy the URL, paste it in the capsule...
Hi thanks for your help, which URL, the one it appears in the browser window when I am in the product page? Or where you talking about the HTML link that Amazon gives you?
I succeed it doing it the way Dame suggested, I ll try your advise too
Thanks
A
Your quite welcome and glad it has helped and thank you for the compliment regarding my knitting Hub
I am having the same problem. URL or the ASIN when I hit the preview button it will not show. I don't understand how Dame is doing it. The Amazon capsule will not take the code Amazon give you. I have been trying this for days. Ugh!
As I said, the part that is UNDERLINED and in bold - is the snippet of code you need to put in your amazon capsule -regarding my SAMPLE plus there's the other options too. Work with what's most comfortable for you.

I'm trying to figure out how to paste the code from the Amazon products. I haven't figured it out yet. I go into my Amazon associate account and have copied the html code or highlighted the picture and it's info. I can tell I am not doing it right. When I paste them in my hubs, I...

I want to know what prompts you to pick up a particular product for your hub. Is it:1. The price of the product2. The customer reviews (the more they are the better the product)3. You have used it (of course not possible always)4. Any other....Hey its not a poll, i have just given a few instances...

I always use Amazon ads as I figure the more advertising the better to a point. Placement is questionable, though. I'm not real happy with a string of ads flushed to the right, although that's what I nearly always do. They are smaller and the text capsule is narrow, which I don't...

http://hubpages.com/my/hubs/stats?categ … ule=AmazonFolks, we really need to make a concerted effort to delete (or at least not display) those Amazon capsules we know to be in violation of QAP.The above link will hopefully help.

I tend to use photos of Amazon products from the product's page when I'm promoting them on an article and just credit them to Amazon. This probably isn't such a good idea, but if the product is being promoted would they mind I wonder? The complication of course is the seller on Amazon might not own...
