Question please..I live in Illinois and our senator, who I won't name names gladly made it so we can't profit from Amazon as an affiliate. If Amazon is now going to not be considered separate, does that mean I can advertise for Amazon now and get paid for any purchases? thanks
At the present time based on how the Amazon program operates on HubPages, no residents of Illinois can sign up for or earn from the Amazon affiliate program.
As California has been debating a similar tax move to the one that Illinois enacted, I wouldn't hold your breath. While HubPages did say something about changing the Amazon program in the fall of 2011, no changes have happened and any developments along those lines have not been mentioned for several months.
