successful than the moderately achieving person?  What psychological impetus spurs the overachieving person always wanting to ACHIEVE and BE MORE?   Are overachievers good role models for the rest of us to emulate? Why? Why not?

The word just means being more than usual successful, especially when young.

Any given person achieving high goals can be doing wonderfully or desperately miserable.  It just depends.

Those who have inner drive and are highly self-motivated in addition to be intensely passionate about what they do are the happiest ones.  They know what THEY WANT out of life.  Those who were incessantly pushed by their parents because the latter did not achieve their particular goals tend to be miserable.  They are achieving because that is what their PARENTS want, not what they individually want to do.
Overachievers are THE HAPPIEST when they are engaged/passionate and inner directed regarding what they DO and what they ACHIEVE!
