Yesterday in my technical communications class, I listened to a group give a presentation on fracking in which they insisted that fracking somehow increases the spread of STDs.
I laughed about that for a good long while.
So how does fracking somehow increase the spread of sexually transmitted diseases?
Were you paying attention?
Did you ask questions?
I think it depends on who (and how) you're fracking, and whether or not you take the proper precautions.
Well played, Freddy. Well played indeed. LOL.
Hahahaha! No, fracking in no way could cause the spread of STDs. That's why it was funny that the presenters could even say so with a straight face.
Fracking is the process of drilling a deep, deep hole and pumping fluids down into the rock layer to fracture it ("frack"). This causes it to release oil and natural gas which is trapped inside the rock. It has absolutely nothing to do with sex.
Cancelling the release of the film "The Interview" and the increasing number of class action suits against Sony Pictures, because of cyber crime and ramifications of info leaks.
The world just keeps getting more and more complicated. Hopefully, I will have already departed when it truly does hit the fan.

WOW! Too bad we're not neighbors. If you were so inclined, it would be fun for me to get coordinated in such matters.
Private lessons are fun! Students can gain more skills that way - and more laughs as student and instructor both fall down at times.
The end of SOA, Sons of Anarchy. I'm guessing they just were not going to be able to top the episodes on an ongoing series anymore. Sad to see it come to an end.
I had an odd experience earlier today thanx good ol' HP...
Some of you may have noticed that I hate Spam in the forums/Q&A here. This morning I left one of my typically snide anti-spam remarks under an obvious BS post in the Q&A section, as is my hobby.
A little while later I got an e-mail through HubPages from the author of said spam post, who told me that I was, and I quote, a "loser."
In fact that's all the message said. This is what it looked like:
"Loser.
Loser loser loser loser loser loser
Loser loser loser loser loser loser
Loser loser loser loser loser loser
Loser loser loser loser loser loser
(repeat several hundred more times)"
...boy, it must've taken him HOURS to come up with such a witty retort.
When I checked again later, the dude's SPAM post had been removed by a moderator, so I ask, who's the real loser huh??
Just another day's work fighting the scammers, the spammers, and the numb-nuts.
My WTF moment was when a coworker tried to kill me--just for fun.
This little feisty gal really needs a name.
When I first realized that a majority of the people who post in Hubpage forums are operating at, or below the emotional level of a 5th grader.
Is that so hard to accept?
http://www.metrolyrics.com/magic-mirror … ssell.html
Yes, and I'm not joking. I am an optimist, and necessarily so. Otherwise, I would have checked out a long time ago! I had entertained the fantasy when I started with Hubpages that the average IQ , and level of maturity, on a site that was so well designed, would be much higher. And so I was quite disillusioned when I noticed that many who claim in their profiles to be professionals, are people I wouldn't hire to work on my janitorial staff, and I certainly wouldn't let them work in the kitchen!
LOL! When I was a kid I worked in a restaurant for a while. One day a customer became belligerent with the manager because he said his burger wasn't properly cooked. I was in the kitchen and could not believe my eyes. But what could I do? He was my boss. The manager put the hamburger back on the grill.
When it was finished, he pulled down his pants, took the hamburger buns, and ... well you get the picture. Anyway, we both watched as the customer ate the hamburger. When the man was finished eating, my boss asked him if it was OK. The man said it was delicious! I was only 16 years old, but it was a valuable lesson. NEVER INSULT THE COOK OR THE WAITER !!! Obviously my boss, who I think was in his 20's at the time, was emotionally immature. If he is still alive, he probably comments on Hubpages.
Ewwwww, you're right, NEVER EVER insult the cook. I have heard MUCH, MUCH WORSE.....
I believe it was spelled "frak" on "Battlestar Galactica," though. It was their Prime-Time TV-safe, outer-spacey version of a swear word.
...so anyway, what was this thread about again??
On this site or in general? Cuz I have those moments on a near daily basis. Sometimes I even provide them to other people

I was under the impression that posting a begging "please come read my hub so it doesn't get unfeatured" type post on other sites was at the very least, frowned upon, if not in direct violation of the TOS.If so, I cannot find that reference, for I have just come across such a post on Face...

I have been blocked to post on the fb group due to spam. I shared my article links on them, I thought FB allows it. What should I do to make my links shareable to them without being spammed?

I think HP should put some sore of restriction on posting to the forums to keep people from joining just to post their spam.New hubbers should have to at least publish One hub of original content before having access to the forums. I'm sure this will not eliminate all the spammers but it may...
