According to CNS news, a recent Harris poll indicated that 74% of Americans believe in God, down from 82% in past years. 68% of Americans believe in heaven, down from 75% in past years. 68% of Americans believe in Jesus Christ, down from 72% in past years. 58% of Americans believe in the devil & hell, down from 62% in past years. Conversely, belief in Darwinian evolution among Americans increased to 47% in the past years.
The Harris polls showed that those who definitely believe in God are: Blacks(70%), Republicans (65%), older Americans (62%), Southerners (61%), Midwesterners (58%), Baby Boomers (60%) & the less educated (60%). Your thoughts on this?
Even if it's an improvement over previous years, only 47% believing in Darwinian evolution is still unbelievably depressing. We desperately need to improve science education in this country.
As for the rest, I don't really care if you believe in God or not, but don't let your faith blind you to reality. Evolution is reality.
