Four decades ago, my mother indicated that in the future, there would be no middle class in the United States.  She indicated that in the future, there are going to be two socioeconomic classes- the very rich & the very poor in the United States.    As of late, the middle class is dwindling in the United States, some are going upward into the upper classes while many are becoming poorer.  Do you agree w/this assessment?  Why?  Why not?

No.  Redefining middle class to a higher, lower or wider range of income level does not make it disappear.

If it is defined by income, it is still there--with me right in the middle of it.
