What if any are some of the cons with prepaid legal?
I read your hub on the pros of prepaid legal, but what are some of the down sides of it? Is it worth it?
Probably the most commonly cited "con" of prepaid legal services is that you typically don't have much choice in who will represent you. With health insurance, you would have thousands of doctors to choose from.
With many prepaid legal services (essentially legal insurance), you may get referred to a single law firm who will assign an attorney to you. There's no guarantee that the attorney will be an expert in your particular legal matter.
Kimbrewaa to answer your question and to respond to the answer JosepnZasa said it is true that you don't have the choices you do with health insurance. With our services we have hand picked the best of the best lawyers in the country and Canada. We have atleast one provider law firm in every state and four providences of Canada.
We have a closed panel system so we can monitor every call that is made to each law firm. The problem that health insurance has with doctors is that they can't monitor all of them all of the time and that is one reason they came out with malpractice insurance to help solve that problem. We don't have that problem because every law firm is monitored and reviewed every 30 days based on member comments and complaints. We also have hundreds of referral law firms in almost every city in the country to handle speeding tickets and other issues that you might need a local lawyer for.
The referral lawyers are monitored by the provider law firms every 30 days and if they aren't doing the job they replace them. With the provider law firms you can also request a new lawyer to speak with if you don't get along with the one you are dealing with. As far as Joseph saying that you might get a lawyer that might not know how to help you is not true, all of our lawyers in the provider law firms have at least 10 years of experience in the type of law that you are requesting help with.
There a few company out the that have a form of prepaid legal services but Pre-Paid Legal Service Inc is the leader in the industry and the only one that monitors every aspect of the membership and cares about their customers and how they are treated by the law firms. If you have any other questions or want more information about Pre-paid Legal Services please let me know by sending me and email at prouddad0206@aol.com.
