I'm not sure how Freud was "addicted" to psychoanalysis? Psychoanalysis is essentially a process and Freud is the one who devised the process. None of us is totally free from addiction of one sort or another. Freud was addicted to tobacco. His theory was no doubt affected by this addiction. His addiction to tobacco would have been one of the "facts" of his psychoanalysis. The "facts" of psychoanalysis are those uncovered by the process.
