What is the best way to learn playing guitar without any tutor?
There are some youtube videos that will be useful. My son tried it and it was useful. Just continue with the same puplisher that you feel comfortable with to learn the main cords. After that, try to play your favourite music pieces, you'll find your self able to play them if you're really gifted. Good luck
Buy a book and teach yourself. It isn't that difficult. The chords and tabbs are the same, just used at different times.
Go to youtube and watch videos about chords or tabbs. You can find anything on youtube. Type in guitar hints or basic guitar. Or moderate guitar, intermediate guitar playing. Anything.
Memorize songs front to back.
Yeah, lots of videos, and tablature is the way to go - so long as you can figure out the symbols relating to beats per measure, etc.
Lots of great books and video out there, but a tutor that you admire would be priceless so far as telling you about your execution, or technique, and how to improve it. It's also good to have peer learners alongside you, to help with motivation. Guitar is difficult to learn to play well, but it's even more difficult to maintain the skill, there are lots of tiny muscles involved, and those tiny ones have poor muscle memory.
I learned to play the guitar by watching tutorial videos on Youtube and I would suggest that you watch the following link and follow up on the remaining videos because I really benefited by watching it..Having said that, you should also practice regularly and I would advise you to keep a music book so that you can write down the notes that are given on the video and practice on it during your own free time..Have fun learning!

Without a teacher, especially in the beginning stages is very difficult. YouTube is definitely a place to go to learn, just like the others said, but don't spend all your time there.
It's cool to watch YT videos to learn songs and basic chords but in the long run you'll be dependent on those videos to learn and you'll definitely hit a plateau and you won't be able to grow with YT.
In order to become independent in learning you're going to have to "study" the guitar to understand how the instrument really works so you can learn anything you want without relying on YouTube. At least get a beginner guitar book with a DVD like Mel Bay's Modern Guitar Method 1. I sell it at my bookstore. Check out my profile and click on Tonys Music Books to read my full review of the book.
Feel free to ask any more questions.
