Would you lie in a court (or to the police) to keep yourself out of prison?

Would you lie in a court (or to the police) to keep yourself out of prison?

Worst case scenario - You have made a mistake, and if found guilty would end up in prison.
If you were guilty but there was very little evidence, and you could stay out of prison by telling a lie, would you do it?

I may try. But I'm not good in doing that. People easily identify when I lie.

When I hear things happen in prison, I'd definitely try to lie and get myself out. But my problem is I don't have any guts to do any crime to end up in prison. tongue

i would sure hope so. if you say you wouldn't, your probably already lying.

I don't know if the threat of getting imprisoned will force me to lie. However, on occasions when I could have easily got away with, without getting caught, I turned back and presented myself before law enforcement in driving cases. Once I was overspeeding in the late night, was in my shorts and t-shirt, somewhat under the influence of alcohol, without any driving license or papers, I stopped when a lone baton weilding policeman indicated but I could have easily run away - no traffic, no camera, no barricade...

To be honest , my answer to the question is 'Yes'.
