Depending on the crime one committed. However, i think since God can give us a long time to repent why not do the same to those that fall short due to imperfection. It's a whole lot complicated when hardened criminals are involved cos they cannot change. So i believe some deserve it while others need time to change if allowed under the right circumstance and environment. Thank you

Crime is a choice - No matter how bad your life may be, you still have to CHOOSE to break the law.
Therefore I think not only is the death penalty justified, there should be and EXPRESS LANE.
You have 3 years of appeals, on day 1096 you are sent to your death. period.

Well deserved!  While it may seem harsh, if the person chose the commit the horrible crime that they did, then they should have to suffer the consequences.  I don't get the point of letting someone live in jail their whole lives, when they could be extinguished for less money.

It depends on the crime.  I used to be opposed to the death penalty and then realized that was the first punishment I thought of for child molesters and killers.  So I don't think the way we do it is cruel and as long as the appeals process (which should be quicker) is seen through--I would say it is well-deserved.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts on this very controversial subject, peeps.  The reason I asked this question is because of the latest execution in Georgia.  The con in question is, I mean, was, Roy Willard Blankenship.  The prison used to use 'sodium thiopental' to execute it's death row inmates, but have more recently switched to 'pentobarbitol'.  Pentobarbitol is what is commonly used to euthanize dogs and cats at the pounds and animal shelters.   Usually inmates just fall asleep after being injected, but Blankenship had a violent reaction after being injected with pentobarbitol, his jerking and gasping lasting for a few minutes.  It has fired up defense attorneys across the nation and given them more ammo and they will now be citing Blankenships case in court as proof of the death penalty as being cruel and unusual punishment.

My own personal thoughts on the subject?  If it's good enough to be killing millions, yes..."millions," of COMPLETELY INNOCENT animals every single year, then it's good enough to kill a scumbag like Blankenship who killed a little old lady in her own home back in 1978.  The only thing I disagree on here, is that he got to sit in prison for an entire 33 years, wasting OUR tax payer dollars to feed, clothe and house him.  The only comforting thing to me about that, is that he was probably raped and was somebody's bitch.  I can only hope.

My other thought on Blankenship, is that he faked it.  He faked having a violent reaction to the drug.  I'm sure of it.

    Thanks again, peeps.

May peace be in your heart and soul...always,
    Diana
