My own series begins http://pattyinglishms.hubpages.com/hub/USA-history
That's a big question. History is based on a combination of fact and truth. Facts are facts, but truth is subjective. Let's look at the people of American history: immigrants, natives, slaves, conquered provincials, English conquerors, planters, and businessmen. These people all fell into categories of poor, middle class, or wealthy. Some were politicians and some were not. You will get a different perspective of American history depending on which person you ask. And I think this is ultimately what American history tells us. We must remove our personal feelings and focus on facts to reach a "universal" truth. These universal truths are deliberately obscured, because they are shameful and because their revelation will lead to societal reform.
