I personally haven't but my best friend has. She has given children's liquid allergy medicine to her dog in small doses but I think that was after checking with a vet to make sure it was okay.

Yes, most medications are tested on dogs since they have the closest physiology to us after monkeys and rabbits. All veterinary medications are actually the "human" medication like tramadol, or ampicillin, so you can actually take their medications. The only med this doesn't apply to is insulin. I had some arthritis meds left over from my puppy that died, and it's the same one I take. When I ran out of mine, I took hers until I could get into town to pick up my rx.  If you know pharmacology, or are in the field like I am, you can easily save money this way!

Yes, I have given Benadryl and Pepto Bismol under the direction of a veterinarian.
