Should corporal punishment be meted out in schools ? Or should it be abolished ?

Does it help to put the student on the right track or will it instill a sense of fear ?

if you mean should teachers be allowed to hit kids, i'll say this. no matter who you are, if you hit my kids for any reason i will beat you so bad that the hospital will be where you stay for the next few weeks. no exceptions.

I think any punishment that is fear based is damaging from children's emotional security. I believe it is more effective to socialize children through conversations and logical consequences. Therefore, corporal punishment should never happen in schools.

spanking is a perfect way to make someone feel like shit. This is how it made me feel. In schools? Hell No. There is enough abuse that kids are facing at home. They don't need extra.
