   Do you think a mental stability test should be required before members join a social network site?
   
   Some people should not have access to social network sites due to immature behavior.

   Very valid point qeyler, except I've been a member for over 12 years and never had an issue that made me question the stability of members until recently. There are all types.

   Yes, definitely. And in addition to a mental stability test, members should be required to know (either personally or through the internet) the people they are "friends" with.

   this question makes me laugh...I've been wondering the same thing myself
   I guess it keeps it interesting though! In all honesty I would say 99% of the people are absolutely awesome.

   Most definitely!!  I have seen 4 year olds acting more mature than some on these sites. Not to mention more gossip than a bunch of old ladies on the front porch in rocking chairs.

   Honestly I don't think that a mental stability test would do anything for someone with a mental problem trying to become a member of a social network.  The reason why it wouldn't work is that they would probably lie on the test, which would just make the testing useless.  Second, you have to remember not to give specific information about yourself like actually posting your actual picture on the social network site and most importantly do not give the city you live in.  Everything that we tell our kids not do should also be done by us adults as well and you should have nothing to worry about.

   Great question! I think the only reason there isn't such a test is that user numbers would fall dramatically. I often question the mental stability of others on social networking sites, some peoples behaviour is shocking.
