How do we refer to the decade of 2000-2010?
We have the seventies, eighties, nineties, and then what?
Don't know the popular names, but I call these years the early 2000s, like we call 1900 - 1909 the early 1900s. 2010 - 2019 I call the "two thousand tens." 1910 - 1919 we call the 19-tens, but then we just say 20s for the 1920s. 2020 - 2029 will probably be just the 20s again.
Only term I have seen on a fairly regular basis is the "aughts," though I don't really like that one. Some people go with the "ohs" or the "twenty ohs". Personally I like something more poetic, like the Decade of Mass Stupidity. Could shorten that to DMS and pronounce it as the dumbs. That seems fitting to me.
"Turn of the Century", "turn of the Millienium", "the millenium", or "early 2000s"
