Have current economic conditions changed your buying and spending habits?

Are you shopping less, or buying online rather than using using a car to go shopping?
Are you spending less on entertainment and recreation or travel?

I am shopping less but that is because I decided I only want quality. I've gotten out of that mindset where I just have to go shopping and mediocrity will do because our products tend to be shoddy (and often recalled). Now, I want the best for my hard earned dollars and if a store cannot provide it - well, I'll just go back home.

For example, I need a new mattress and what is on the market is made with such toxic materials that it comes with warning labels. Why on earth would I buy this highly flammable product and breathe these fumes. I don't have the money to go organic right now so I have happily made a bed on the floor - which by the way eliminated those aches and pains caused by my sagging mattress.

Most of the stuff we buy we just don't need. And if we stop buying low quality products they will improve.

Very sensible. Quality purchases will almost always outlast the"bargain" items.
