What Is The Explanation For Eidetic Or Photographic Memory?
How do some people possess an eidetic or photographic memory? What is the possible physical explanation for this type of memory or savants?
The Physical explanation, of Eidetic Memory, is ...
That ... as the Lens of a Camera can Focus on a specific Object, or a Scene and retain the "seen details" on film, or a Chip ... Similarly, some similarly oriented "Brains" ... assisted by Sight ... can also retain "detailed" Images of the "Seen" object, or objects in "Memory" ...
Normally, when "Seeing" anything ... we tend to take a lot "for granted" ... thus, ignore to note or care to remember the Details, that have nothing to do with the story.
Supposing we are reading a book ... we tend to take the Book's Form, Letters, Paper, Print and Colours etc.. for granted, and Focus on what the "book" is "Saying" ...
Savant is another matter ...and deals with an extraordinary mental proficiency, limited to a subject, like Mathematics ... Science, wrongly associates this proficiency, with Genius ...
Rest assured, Eidetic or Photographic Memory per se, is nothing to be happy about, because, it takes away Creativity, from its possessor.
Anyway, Eidetic persons do not take Things associated with the book, for Granted ... Provided, they are so Oriented ... they note and retain, everything "Seen" in Memory, such as the Text, its Layout, Print, Paragraphs, and Style etc.. and have this ability to Recall the Retained Details from Memory ...
