I'm starting a home business teaching guitar lessons, and would love some Hubpages input for market research? If you or someone you know is paying for instrument lessons, chime in please! Thanks,
    Jim

I am sure you will get a long list of variable answers.  This question also depends on the income of the student.  I suppose since my parents provided a few classical guitar classes for two months for me as a teen I am somewhat qualified to respond.  That was long ago though. I would pay $15 for 30 min. of quality lesson for my teen.  It is so important for the basic music studied to match the interests of the student though.  This would be for a beginner only. I believe an increase would be appropriate as the advancement takes place.

Great idea starstream about varying the price, beginners through advanced. Thank you!

$20 per half hour is fair.  I found a page here you'd like, shows different prices per area.  Hope it helps.

Here in Greece they vary from private teacher to conservatoire. They may be 20 Euros an hour for private lessons or 100 Euros per month (4 hrs a week) for lessons at the conservatoire. Good luck.

Thanks, Garifalia. I'm still deciding on how long lessons should be. My wife (former piano teacher for 10+ yrs) says it should vary depending on age.

I agree with her. That's how we decide (here) on how long private language lessons should be. For the little ones maybe 45 minutes to an hour. All the best to you!

I think 25$ per hour is much economical for half hour guitar... Because too much amount is not payable for the students...

This week, my business officially opens, modestly, but the word is out. My website 1.0 is done (I say 1.0, because I'm not EVEN done tweaking and improving it!): http://www.jimmilesguitarlessons.com.

I have an ad out on craigslist for my Orlando area. Friday I'm ordering a web URL promotional decal for my car. My facebook business page and Youtube business page are out there, too.

For the curious, I settled on $25.00 for a 45-minute lesson.
